The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Nick (Joshua Morrow) will become involved with Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan), as expected. However, Sharon (Sharon Case) will soon be available due to Dylan’s (Steve Burton) upcoming departure. As has been the case in the past, Shick will be put into a situation where they briefly revisit past chemical history. But it will only be a one-off, instead of the start of a new relationship.
As viewers know, Burton has opted to leave the cast of Y&R. That means Dylan will soon be leaving Genoa City, will be killed off or his character will be recast. In any event, Shylan’s loss of Sully, who’s been Christian all along, has allowed Sharon to return to work full-time. Her boss is Chelsea, who is rapidly becoming Nick’s significant other. The proximity of Sharon to Chelsea and Chelsea’s increasing interaction with Nick will play into this tale shortly.
There are many reasons why Nick was initially attracted to Sharon. At first blush she was physically attractive. But Mr. Newman quickly came to love Miss Collins as well because she had a great heart, was resilient and initially brought out the best in him.
Eventually Shick formed and was married. After Cassie (Camryn Grimes) came into their life, or back into her life in Sharon’s instance, Noah (eventually played by Robert Adamson) was born. However, one of (if not) the most controversial storylines in Y&R’s history took Cassie away forever. Although there were numerous angelic spirit sequences that allowed Grimes to work sporadically thereafter, but that’s a different point.
The Cassie catastrophe enabled Phyllis (then played by Michelle Stafford) to catch Nick’s interest, which wasn’t hard because she was extremely audacious back in the day(time). Phick formed and Summer (eventually played by Hunter King) was born. That established both Nick and Phyllis as cheaters, which Jack (Peter Bergman) reminded Red of recently.
With backstories having been offered for all who were late to the soapy party, or as a memory refresher for those who hadn’t scheduled regular viewings into daily their lives during the past twenty-plus years, the coming arc now moves forward. Yes, Chick is forming organically. But an unexpected source will momentarily disrupt their flow.
Chelsea and Nick are currently grieving their spouses, but are healing. They have children and find each other quite appealing. So Chick will bond romantically rather soon. However, a situation will present itself where Sharon and Nick will romantically reconnected. It won’t be a flashback, but will it be a dream sequence?
