The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) and Billy’s (Jason Thompson) affair is on the verge of exposure. It won’t be long until Jack (Peter Bergman) knows the whole ugly truth. Jack will be blindsided by the news, but Y&R viewers have been watching this play out for months.
How do you feel about “Philly” and their betrayal? Are you disgusted by Billy and Phyllis? There are several ways to look at this. Phyllis been through a rough time and we can understand that. Phyllis was repeatedly violated by Marco (Peter Bergman) and Jack has been brushing Victor’s (Eric Braeden) actions under the rug.
However, that doesn’t give Phyllis the right to throw out her marriage vows. To make matters worse, Phyllis isn’t just having any old affair. She’s been sleeping with Jack’s brother! That’s about as low as you can get.
That brings us to Billy’s role in their cheating scandal. After all, it takes two to tango. Billy knows this will hurt Jack, but he doesn’t really care. Does he like the idea of causing total devastation? Not particularly, but it’s a blow he’s willing to deliver.
At least Phyllis is trying to protect Jack on some level. Lying isn’t the answer, but we have to give Phyllis credit for worrying about Jack’s feelings. Billy seems to think all’s fair in love in and war. He just wants to rip off the bandage and let Jack deal with it.
Of course, you could argue that Phyllis’ strategy is actually hurting Jack even more. If Phyllis and Billy can’t control themselves (which they obviously can’t), then sneaking around is just prolonging the inevitable. When Jack gets updates on what Phyllis has been hiding, he’ll feel like such a fool.
Jack has been a proud supporter of Phyllis and Billy’s bond. He’ll soon discover that he was pushing these cheaters together. Nevertheless, Jack shouldn’t blame himself. Billy and Phyllis are the only ones who deserve the guilt trip they’re about to go on.
OK. We’ve established the fact that Billy and Phyllis are backstabbing liars, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re disgusting. It’s completely possible to hate what they’re doing to Jack, but love every minute of their soapy romance. You might even be rooting for them.
Many Young and the Restless fans would agree that Jason Thompson and Gina Tognoni’s chemistry is off the charts. Other soaps should take note. THIS is how you do an affair storyline! Phyllis and Billy’s forbidden love has been unbelievably hot.
It’s also given us a great plot that’s about to explode in ways we can’t even imagine. The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest that the fallout is going to be huge. The growing tension has excited Y&R viewers and we’re all ready to pass the popcorn for the epic reveal.
We definitely want to see Phyllis and Billy get what they have coming. They need to pay the price for their behavior, but how do you truly feel about them?
