The Young and The Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will continue to press Phyllis Abbott (Gina Tognoni) to leave Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and break his heart. Billy Miller vs Jason Thompson
Do you think if Billy Miller was still in the role, that this sister-in-law stealing storyline would be more likable? It’s not as if the character of Billy Abbott has ever been a particularly good guy. He was a drinker, gambler, and an inveterate cheater. Yet people liked the character – and Billy Miller was a fan favorite in the role.
Now, though, it seems like the change in actors and the darker Billy Boy story is turning fans off – and putting some off Jason Thompson. If the plan was for Y&R to try and scoop up some GH fans that loved Thompson as Patrick Drake, they have sorely missed the mark. Patrick was likable – this post-coma Billy is not.
Billy Abbott old and new
The coma from the beating and being run over was an excuse to change out the actor when the bandages came off his face, but it’s also marked a drastic change in his character. Y&R fans were ready to give Jason Thompson a try when he came out of the coma seemingly dedicated to loving Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle).
But then Y&R abruptly made Billy more despicable than ever. That’s not good for Y&R fans and it’s not good for Jason Thompson. Some fans just don’t seem to like him as Billy – and many no longer like the part. The Young and The Restless spoilers have teased now and again that Billy Miller might come back to Y&R.
Clearly, though, those are just rumors and it’s not happening. But with Mal Young taking the helm at Y&R after the Jill Farren Phelps ousting, perhaps he’s considering shaking things up in another direction.
The Young and The Restless spoilers tease that Aiden Turner has been seen on the Y&R set auditioning for a role on the CBS soap and there’s talk he could be a recast for Adam Newman – but could he be up for Billy instead?
Is it the part or is it the actor?
Let’s face it, not every actor is a fit for every part. Did you know that Tom Selleck was almost cast as Indiana Jones? Imagine the difference there compared to Harrison Ford…
