The Young and the Restless spoilers documented Sharon’s (Sharon Case) fears for months. Now, a simple phone call from Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) has ignited the anticipated Sully-to-Christian reveal. One of Y&R’s most engaging recurring characters wants something from Sharon and it seems likely that she’ll get it. Otherwise, Sharon won’t be able to keep the boy she thinks of as her own.
The Young and the Restless spoilers flashes back for all who don’t have photographic memories: Patty was put in a mental health facility after she had killed Dr. Sandy Anderson (Elizabeth Bogush). Sandy initially sought revenge against Nick (Joshua Morrow) for an incident (she broke her neck after being dared to jump in the pool) that occurred at the Newman Ranch when they were teenagers.
Dr. A then worked with a nurse at Genoa City Memorial Hospital to fake Christian’s death and transfer Sage and Nick’s baby to Fairview, where he was presented to Sharon as her new-born son.
Sharon had unfortunately checked herself into the same famed location, Fairview, where Faith (eventually played by Alyvia Alyn Lind) was taken from her by Adam (then played by Michael Muhney) years ago. Y&R fans recall that Sandy kept Sharon drugged, convinced her that she was pregnant, while preventing family members from visiting for months, and then claimed that she delivered Sully.
Patty eventually confronted Sandy and then murdered her in self-defense as the bad doctor attempted to silence her patient with medicine.
Flashing-forward to this fall: Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) mentioned to Sharon at Faith’s birthday party that she was surprised to hear Sully was already walking, as all of the other Newman grandchildren didn’t do so until they were at least one.
That grandmother’s statement was noteworthy because Shylan’s perceived son is believed to be less than a year old. Of course, he’s actually a few months older than his faux birth certificate shows because Christian was born before Sharon believed she gave birth to Sully.
Savvy viewers easily recognize foreshadowed Young and the Restless plot points. So, in addition to the family-related chatter at Crimson Lights, the recent series of hangup phone calls Dylan (Steve Burton) and Sharon have been receiving were obvious signs. Sharon’s unexpected conversation with Patty furthered an open plot point that fans have been calling to be closed for awhile.
So, Y&R spoilers tell us that Sharon will be given a choice. She will be able to maintain her life as long as she agrees to help Patty. Of course, at least one in-person visit seems likely so this proposition can be presented.
Then, all will be well as long as Sharon agrees to somehow help Patty move to a less restrictive facility. Clearly that plan has holes, but Sharon will feel pressured to do what she’s told.
