“The Young and the Restless” (Y&R) spoilers tease that Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) will find it difficult to stick to her plan. After a wild night of passion and another kiss in the park, Phyllis insisted that things were over with Billy (Jason Thompson). She decided to focus on repairing her marriage to Jack (Peter Bergman) and they shared a romantic evening in a suite.
Nevertheless, Phyllis will find herself thinking about Billy in the coming weeks. Y&R buzz suggests they could hook up again soon. Since Phyllis is doing all of this bed-hopping, it’s natural for “Young and the Restless” viewers to wonder if a pregnancy storyline is in the works. Could Phyllis end up with a baby on the way? If so, who’s the daddy?
Let’s look at the options and try to determine where Y&R could go with this. Jack only has Keemo (Philip Moon) and Kyle (Lachlan Buchanan), so he could use another child to carry on his legacy. He’s the family patriarch now that John (Jerry Douglas) is gone and the show might want to add to his brood.
Plus, Jack doesn’t have any daughters. He missed out on Summer (Hunter King) when she turned out to be Nick’s (Joshua Morrow). Jack might enjoy an opportunity to get a little girl of his own. Of course, we haven’t seen Keemo in years and Kyle has departed Genoa City as well. Does Jack really need an extra kid when they don’t use the ones he already has? That’s something to think about.
Billy has Johnny and Katie left on canvas. He also had Delia (Sophie Pollono), but sadly she’s passed on. Billy is quite a bit younger than Jack and he’ll undoubtedly be around a lot longer. However, Billy is clearly the less responsible brother. Jack would probably provide more stability for his potential child.
Plus, we need to consider the state of Phyllis and Jack’s marriage. If Phyllis continues to drift toward Billy, a baby with Jack would keep her connected to her husband. It could solidify their reunion. That might give Billy the push he needs to give up on Phyllis and reunite with Victoria (Amelia Heinle).
Then again, Phyllis currently seems determined to work it out with Jack. If she gets pregnant, Phyllis would likely hope that the baby would be her husband’s. As we learned from Sage’s (Kelly Sullivan) situation, “The Young and the Restless” characters don’t always get the paternity test results they’re hoping for.
A love child would obviously create major drama. It could mean bad news for Phyllis and Jack’s relationship or be what brings them together. A pregnancy for Phyllis would create a dramatic shift either way. Stick with the CBS soap for updates on this potential game changer.
