Tori Spelling likes to think of herself as a frugalista celebrity mom who likes to dress her children in department store clothes and snag a good, affordable deal with coupons whenever she can. After all, she’s built an empire surrounding her persona of being a “crafty” and hands-on mom with her sensible approach to everyday living.
Yet, Tori Spelling’s finances tell a whole different story as it looks like she’s still living the high life she was brought up in during her childhood as she and her husband Dean McDermott are having a hard time making ends meet. In fact, things are so hard that Tori reportedly owes $250,000 to the government in back taxes.
Tori Spelling’s financial woes are nothing new to her fans as inability to manage money has been well-publicized over the last few years. And the fact that both she and her husband still take lavish vacations and go on shopping sprees despite not being able to hold down a steady job has raised more than a few eyebrows.
Yet this latest tax bill is one that might break her already strained marriage as the television couple owe a whopping $259,108.23 on a tax lien dating back from 2014.
If that weren’t enough, McDermott’s ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace is suing him for $25,000 in unpaid child support bills for their teenaged son Jack and Spelling has also been hit with a $38,000 unpaid credit card bill that she hasn’t paid in over a year.
To top it all off, the couple is also dealing with their own cheating and lack of trust issues as they’ve slowly been mending their marriage after the actor allegedly cheated on his wife with a Canadian fan named Emily Goodhand in 2013.
This is enough to make anyone run to the court house with divorce papers in hand, yet Spelling has managed to continue smiling with clenched teeth and show the world that all is fine with picture-perfect snaps on her multiple social media accounts.
That, and her brand new, designer outfits each time she steps out of the house. As many know all too well, messing with the government is no joke and if Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott fail to pay their tax lien, they might find themselves on the wrong side of the law.
And with cracks in their foundations, it will only be a matter of time before their marriage takes a tumble once and for all. What do you think, Celebrity Dirty Laundry readers?
