Tonight’s episode of UnREal kicks off with Rachel laying in bed – her mother sent her a car package because she is “worried about her.” It’s a bag full of pills, she tosses them in the trash as Quinn calls her to work. Rachel is still not happy that Quinn took back control of the show, they’re trying to film opening night. Chet has gotten his way, and instead of evening gowns, they are wearing bikinis.
Quinn tells Rachel she needs a catfight – so Rachel puts Beth Ann in a bikini with a Confederate Flag on it. She’s depending on Ruby freaking out over the flag. Jay pulls a slick move, he takes Ruby aside and tells her that Rachel is playing her and trying to make her the “angry black woman” on the show. So, Ruby doesn’t take Rachel’s bait and ignores Beth Ann’s bikini.
It’s time to introduce the girls to their suitor, Darius, obviously there are some confused women when they realize that their bachelor is black. Beth Ann makes a run for it, she’s mortified that she listened to Rachel and put on the Confederate flag bathing suit. Meanwhile, Quinn and Chat get in to a huge fight over the opening pool party when he brings out Darius’ entourage. Quinn shouts that she only agreed to “one black guy.”
While Quinn and Chet are arguing, Rachel tries to get Beth Ann to get out of the bathroom. Beth cries that she doesn’t want to wear the bathing suit because she actually likes Darius Beck. Rachel convinces her that this is her “golden opportunity” to stand out. Meanwhile, the cop and the MMA fighter are outside plotting about what to do about Beth’s bikini.
Rachel takes Beth Ann to meet Darius, everyone watches, waiting for the trainwreck. But, Beth Ann decides to strip down naked and take her suit off so that she doesn’t offend him. Darius is a gentleman and he gives her his shirt to cover up. Ruby watches from the sidelines…furious. Chet races with Jeremy to try and get everything on video but he misses it. Chet and Quinn decide to film the episode with their own camera crews and let the network decide which is better and who should be in charge.
Ruby is having a meltdown, she is furious that Darius was cool with the Confederate flag bathing suit. Jay is chasing her around trying to convince her to calm down and not make a fool of herself.
Jeremy and Chet are still scheming to ruin Quinn’s show – they know that Tiffany is supposed to be her “wifey.” Chet takes Tiffany aside, Tiffany wants to go home, her dad owns Darius’ NFL team and she thinks that this is all a whole set up. Chet tells Tiffany that the best way to get Darius to send her home is to “screw one of his friends.”
Quinn spots Tiffany on the monitor in one of the bedrooms hooking up with Chet’s friend. Rachel rushes down to stop them, she kicks Tiffany out of the room, and swears Darius’ friend to secrecy. She points out that Darius NEEDS Tiffany, and if he cares about Darius he will keep his mouth shut about what happened. Rachel chases after Tiffany, Tiffany explains that she doesn’t want to be a football wife, she has grown up in the NFL and she knows what guys like Darius are like.
Rachel gives her a speech about not judging a book by the cover and sends Tiffany in to meet Darius. They actually hit it off and everything seems to be going smoothly.
In the monitor room, Quinn is still going in on Rachel. She taunts Rachel and tells her that her mother might have been right about her all along and her “episodes.” Rachel has a meltdown and heads outside to smoke. Jay catches her and tells Rachel that she should have never come back. Rachel shouts at Jay that he is just jealous because she got the promotion and he didn’t. Jay laughs in her face and tells Rachel that she will never be in charge – until she pries Everlasting out of Quinn’s cold dead hands. Rachel heads back to her room to fish her medication out of the garbage.
Meanwhile, back at Chet’s springbreak style pool party, Quinn and Chet are arguing. Chet tells Quinn that he caught Tiffany and Darius’s friend Romeo on tape and he plans on putting it in his episode. Quinn isn’t worried about it, she says that all the network wants is love and romance, not scandal and hook-ups in the bathroom.
It’s time for the first elimination ceremony, Chet gives Darius a cheat sheet so that he can remember every one’s name, and right before the ceremony he tells him that Romeo and Tiffany hooked up in the bathroom. The girls are shocked when Darius decides to keep Beth Ann, even after the Confederate Flag incident. Despite what Chet told him…Darius still keeps Tiffany.
Tonight’s episode ends with Rachel in the company van, the girls and Darius have al turned in for the night. Quinn is blowing up Rachel’s phone, but she’s ignoring her. Rachel heads to Gary’s house, she tells him that Chet and Quinn are out of control and they are at each other’s throats – she’s afraid that they are going to ruin the show. Rachel tells Gary that they are making two versions of the show. She throws Quinn under the bus and says that Quinn didn’t have anything nice to say about him. Rachel wants Gary to send Quinn and Chet home so that she can finish filming the show without any interruptions.
Gary heads back to the studio to watch Quinn and Chet’s versions of the opening episode. He is furious when he sees the mess that they have created. Gary announces that he is putting someone else in charge, but it’s not Rachel, it’s Coleman Wesserman. He says that Coleman makes ratings, and the network has been waiting for a chance to work with him. After Gary leaves, Coleman announces that he is more interested in Chet’s version of the show than Quinn’s and they are working in the bikini direction.
Coleman taunts Rachel after everyone leaves about her plan blowing up in her face…he knows that Rachel got Quinn and Chet fired.
THE END!
