Tonight on Bravo Vanderpump Rules returns with an all new Sunday January 4, season 4 episode 10 called, “No Strings Attached,” and we have your weekly recap below. On tonight’s episode, Tom Schwartz finally mans up and plans to get down on one knee for Katie Maloney, but Lisa Vanderpump worries that his complicated proposal scheme will end in disaster. Brittany moving in with Jax Taylor doesn’t stop him from moving in on Lala.
On the last episode, Sandoval and Schwartz learned that not all that happens in Vegas stayed in Vegas when they surprise their girlfriends with shocking news from their trip. Kristen returned to SUR and apologized to Ariana, but Ariana was not ready to forgive and forget. Lisa helped Katie examine Schwartz’s commitment issued, Sandoval and Ariana took the stage at the Improv, James tried to sabotage Jax’s love life, and a visit from Sandoval’s mom shedded light on his pre-SUR life. Schwartz had kind of messed up last week. He had taken what his girlfriend had said to him in private and had broadcasted it to everyone else. And that’s how the big fight last week began.
Tom and Ariana had gotten into a huge argument with Katie because she had tried to tell them that it shouldn’t be such a big deal for Kristen to come to the birthday weekend. And unfortunately no one else had been prepared to stand up to either Tom or Ariana so Katie took the brunt of it. However, Jax wanted Kristen to be with them on vacation just as much as Katie did.
Therefore, when the time came, Jax ended up having a tough time following orders. He had been told by Tom that Kristen shouldn’t be invited to their joint birthday getaway. And yet when he saw Kristen in person – he just couldn’t resist inviting her anyways.
Especially as both Kristen and Scheana had done him the favor to follow him to the bar where he was going to being meet up with Lala. Jax it seems had needed a buffer. He knew he was attracted to Lala and so he asked his friends to join them just to prevent anything from happening.
But as it turns out Lala was too busy doing whatever she was doing to let the presence of others stop her. So she flirted with Jax and she was all for touching his back or his leg. And she didn’t have a single problem with make numerous innuendos.
Hence it was a good thing that both Scheana and Kristen were there. They continued to drop hints about Brittany and that kept Jax from just crossing the line. Although he might have ruined whatever chance he had with Lala.
Lala apparently hadn’t known he was in a serious relationship and thus she was shocked to find out he was going to be moving in with his girlfriend. And once she had gotten over said shock, she then became angry. She thought Jax was way too old to being playing such games and she ended up calling him disgusting.
So naturally James felt he now had better odds at winning her over.
However, Lala wasn’t sure. She knew she didn’t want to get involved with someone in a serious relationship, but like she told a friend, she doesn’t always know what she’s capable of when she’s drunk. And that means Jax might not be completely out of the picture.
At least not with her. But the one thing everyone knows for sure about Jax is that he’s a bit of a coward. He doesn’t like confrontation and so he tends to leave things to the very last minute.
For instance, Jax didn’t tell Lala that he was in a pretty serious relationship and that his girlfriend was going to be movingin with him. And despite the promises he made to Kristen, he wasn’t exactly in a hurry to speak to Tom about their updated new guest list.
So, you know what, eventually Kristen bowed out gracefully of her own accord. Everyone had been telling her about how angry Tom and Ariana are. And so she didn’t see the point in forcing her way onto a shared vacation.
Though the other girls were still pretty upset. Katie and Scheana didn’t think it was fair for either Tom or Ariana to make demands and they equally thought it was time to put the past in the past. So the whole inviting Kristen to the trip “thing” might not be over.
Only no one could be bothered to remember the drama or the in-fighting when later Schwartz finally stepped up and proposed to Katie.
He had brought the ring with Scheana’s help but the only person that knew the when was Tom. Therefore, the guys came up with an elaborate way to propose all on their own. And it was actually very well done.
They had someone pretend to propose at the restaurant but at the last second Schwartz took the ring and got down on one knee. So of course Katie said “yes”. She’s been waiting for that ring since the ring on the string situation.
