Scheana and Mike Shay, from “Vanderpump Rules,” have filed for divorce. The break-up news comes after the couple allowed their relationship problems play out on the Bravo TV show last season.
The SUR server and musician were married in 2014 in season 3 of “Vanderpump Rules” (remember her infamous crop top wedding dress). The couple has always put on a front that their relationship was picture perfect and that they both were happy, but in 2015 that front crumbled and the couple’s problems played out on national TV.
After eight years of being addicted to painkillers and alcohol Mike Shay went off the rails and left Scheana Marie to stay at his parents’ house for over a week. When Mike returned home, Scheana put together an intervention along with their closest friends and “Vanderpump Rules” stars Jax, Tom, and Schwartz.
After the intervention Mike Shay reportedly sought out help for his addiction and the married couple tried to work out their problems. but apparently it wasn’t enough. In the first episode of the new season Scheana Shay said that her marriage was better, but sources say that relationship drama will come out later in the season.
In early November TMZ reported that the DJ and producer fell off the wagon, disappeared with all their money and was unreachable to Scheana.
After catching wind of the report Shay wrote on Instagram “I am not missing. I am sober. I am Happy!!! Don’t believe everything you read. I love my wife and will always love my wife. Whatever is going on between us will stay between us! I love my family and my family loves me and a lot of things have been said out is protection and anger by many people. I just ready for the next chapter in my life!”
Scheana Marie then posted “Looking into the future! The truth will come out in this season on #PumpRules so stay tuned.”
This week Scheana filed divorce and the couple released a joint statement today to E Online that read “While we have made the difficult decision to move forward separately, our story will continue on through the love and mutual respect that we have cultivated throughout our 15-year friendship. Much of the recent speculation and reporting on our relationship has been misguided, and we have come to an amicable decision on all matters.”
