Yolanda Hadid is making headlines again. The ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ alum wore a very revealing sheer top while she was spotted leaving her hotel room in New York City this week. The nearly-nude paparazzi photos are prompting some critics to wonder whether Yolanda Hadid is trying to steal the spotlight from her two daughters, models and “it” girls Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid.
Clearly, Gigi Hadid has become the star of this year’s New York Fashion Week. The Instagram star and aspiring supermodel has made headlines for her Gigi Hadid and Tommy Hilfiger collaboration. Gigi Hadid is no doubt the fashion world’s top model at the moment, as she is in demand just about everywhere she goes.
Even though Yolanda Hadid claims to have been a successful model during her career in the 1980s and 1990s, the Dutch-born beauty never attained the same amount of success like her daughters Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid. The Hadid sisters are starring in some of the biggest print campaigns in the world for top brands like Versace, Chanel, Elie Saab, Anna Sui, Balmain and Diane Von Furstenberg.
Even though Yolanda Hadid has done print ads during her modeling career, she was never of the same caliber of some of the world’s most famous supermodels, like Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss, and Naomi Campbell. Even though Yolanda Hadid claims to have had a contract with Ford Models, she’s never walked the runways of major fashion weeks like Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid. In fact, Yolanda Hadid didn’t become a recognizable celebrity and household name until she married her second husband, David Foster, and landed a role on Bravo’s reality television show, ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.’
So it’s no wonder that Yolanda Hadid is possibly trying to make headlines by stepping out in a nearly-nude, sheer top during one of the most important moments of her daughters’ careers. Yolanda Hadid could have only dreamt of attaining the same modeling success as her daughters, Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid. While there’s no doubt that Yolanda Hadid is supportive of their careers, there’s no doubt that as a former model herself, she is also envious of their success, too.
