Jamie was finally back with her friends on tonight’s episode of “Zoo” however not everything was alright now that she back and the time she had spent running for life ended up having some unfortunate side-effects.
Jamie like anyone else that could have gone through all that she did was suffering from PTSD. She had tried to hide her condition while she was with her friends, but she let out of most of her frustrations when she was alone and often needed times to be alone. Like after she found out about what happened to Chloe for instance. Jamie had apparently thought that Reiden Global would be held accountable for the global crisis they caused so it had come as a nasty surprise to her to find out that they hadn’t gotten all locked up and instead had been given a military contract to deal with a problem they caused. So Jamie had already been upset to hear that when Mitch went on to fill her in on what happened to Chloe.
He told her that Chloe had found out that the Noah Objective was going to wipe out the animals as well as kill 2.2 million people. So he mentioned that the only way they could stop the Noah Objective going ahead was to steal the Tx-14 gas they were going to use on everyone and that Chloe had later gotten caught in a gas cloud after both she and Dariela had no other choice than to release it just to stop Reiden Global from using it. But Jamie like some of the others had come to blame Dariela for the death of their friend because she too though Dariela had given up too quickly so she pretended that she would find a way to adjust while she was with Mitch. And then attacked Dariela the first chance she got.
It was petty and incompletely out of character for Jamie yet that opportunity allowed her to work out some of her issues and ultimately hold someone accountable for their mistakes. However, Jamie was already on shaky ground with Alison so that little spat didn’t endear her to the other woman. Who later, acting as the Deputy Secretary of Defense, chose to bench both Jamie and her friend Logan from going out on the team’s latest mission. So Jamie and Logan had remained on the plane while everyone got the chance to meet a mysterious venom dealer that could possibly help them with their new problem called the hurricane jellyfish.
The team had found out that the jellyfish had developed a third helix mutation that allows them to manipulate the surrounding ocean’s temperature into causing hurricanes. Yet, the oddest thing about such jellyfish was that it wasn’t the first time that people had heard about them causing hurricanes. There was a newspaper back in 1895 called The Worldwide Courier and surprisingly it had listed many of the third helix mutations that the team was now facing. So that meant this thing with the animals had all happened once before and that no one had paid attention to it at the time because they had viewed the newspaper as tabloid rather than a cautionary tale. And that’s what allowed history to repeat itself.
The newspaper though came in handy to the team. The Courier had listed all the animals and had told them about what other mutations they might be facing. So the reason the rest of the team had gone to meet up with a crazy drug addled venom dealer while Jamie had to stay behind was because they needed a certain kind of jellyfish that only he could provide. Santos apparently had one of the rare jellyfish that was immortal so the jellyfish he had in his custody was possibly around in 1895. And had the third helix mutation this entire time.
Santos however wanted something first before he handed over the valuable jellyfish. Santos had told the team that he wanted a certain specimen that his men have been trying to collect for him so he had agreed to hand over the jellyfish if Mitch and the others got their hands on a rare spider he wanted to collect. So Mitch had agreed to that transaction and had even taken the others down into the spider nests that were all over the underground tunnels. But he and the others also decided to play it safe. It seems they knew that Santos would find a way to get out of handing them the jellyfish so it hadn’t mattered that they found out he had betrayed them by allowing General Davies into the building.
Mitch, Dariela, Jackson, and even the pacifist at heart Abraham had all agreed to collect as many spiders as they could just so they could release them on Santos and later the men that were sent to collect them. So the guys ultimately got what they wanted in the end, but Jackson had nearly lost it when he was beating someone and Dariela had been tempted to put him down. Though thankfully Abraham had stepped in and had stopped Dariela from following through on killing Jackson if she ever began to suspect his mutation was taking over. And while Jackson had eventually returned to normal before he could hurt someone, Abraham didn’t forget what Dariela had almost did so he told her she could leave if she wanted to.
Abraham hadn’t been fooling himself because he had seen something take a hold on Jackson though he didn’t think Jackson was as far gone as she had. So Abraham had talked to Jackson afterwards and he had sworn that he would be there for his friend. However, he had cautioned his friend about seeking a death wish. He said they were surrounded by enemies and that they couldn’t afford him losing it. Like he did with the solider that had asked them about Jackson. Which was something odd that no one had picked up on.
General Davies’s men had flown to Lisbon not for the team or to stop what they were doing. They had gone for Jackson because the General wanted him to be brought to him for some reason. So no one had questioned that even as Jamie later turned the tables on Alison and had found out that Alison had initially been supportive of the Noah Objective and told warned the other woman that she didn’t trust her. But that wasn’t the only thing that was strange because Mitch had looked at the jellyfish’s DNA and he found out that the jellyfish had mutated because of an exposure to radiation over a hundred years ago so he knew what was causing the animals to mutate back then though oddly he couldn’t use that same process to find the gene that was mutating Jackson.
Mitch had said that he looked because he knew it was there and had even felt it was there however he couldn’t actually find it. So he was now calling Jackson’s wonky gene the “Ghost Gene” and unexplainable that had made Jackson think of his father. Jackson’s father had seen the animal mutation before anyone else did and the world had vilified him it by calling him crazy. Yet, Jackson’s father who he thought was dead was very much alive and being held as General Davies’s prisoner. And so it was Jackson’s dad that created the TX-14 gas and he wasn’t willing to perfect into a killing machine it until the General allowed him to see his son.
THE END!
