Camilla Parker-Bowles still can’t get over Princess Diana’s insult. According to reports, Diana supposedly nicknamed Camilla “the Rottweiler” when she suspected that her husband Prince Charles was cheating on her with his mistress.
Camilla Parker-Bowles is now opening up about how she felt when her affair with Prince Charles was made public. She says that for the longest time she felt like a prisoner in her own home. Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles’ affair made the front page of every major newspaper.
Sure, Princess Diana also reportedly cheated on Prince Charles with James Hewitt, but Camilla was vilified by the press in the early nineties. That’s because many of Princess Diana’s fans simply couldn’t forgive her for breaking up her marriage with Prince Charles.
Camilla has definitely been called almost every name in the book by the press and her critics, it’s Diana’s nickname for her that hurts the worst. She simply can’t get over it. And even though Princess Diana tragically died in a car accident 20 years ago, her words still haunt Camilla to this very day. Sure, she and Prince Charles are happy and in love, but she still has to work twice as hard as anyone else to prove her worth to the public.
Camilla’s been doing everything she can to soften her image and appear more friendly and caring whenever she’s in the public eye. And despite the fact that Charles is much happier with Camilla than he ever was with Diana, her critics still can’t give her a break. No matter what Camilla says or does, she’s still the woman Princess Diana called a Rottweiler.
For royal observers, it’s no wonder that Camilla Parker-Bowles simply can’t get over her feud with Princess Diana. It’s been so many years since Diana’s death, yet her nasty words still haunt Camilla to this very day. Plus, it’s no secret that the world often compares Camilla to her husband’s ex-wife. And for Camilla, it certainly isn’t easy. She always has to hear about how beautiful Princess Diana was in her prime, how passionate she was about her charity work and how the world simply adored her.
