Angeles Memorial was at the heart of a pandemic. The hospital was where many thought it had all began however the doctors there were quickly realizing that sort of logic was flawed. There had been their first patient which had been Yolanda and she had gotten others sick during a second wave of the disease. But Yolanda must have caught the disease from either someone or something. So there was a Patient Zero and the hospital had no idea of knowing who it was. And so they had been forced to retrace Yolanda’s steps.
Yolanda’s friend Alicia Dias had been the only person left out of the first group that had gotten ill and so her condition was barely stable. However, the doctors had needed to know where Yolanda’s apartment was located and thankfully Alicia had been able to still give them the address. So Rorish, Willis, and a CDC doctor had left the hospital to investigate Yolanda’s apartment yet they had found something interesting parked right in front of the building. They had found one of the CDC’s own cars and inside had been an empty container.
The container had originally housed the disease and so that told them that the CDC had known what they were dealing with this entire time. Yet, Dr. Reed had informed the other two that she hadn’t known about the missing van or that a disease they had had in their control had been stolen. So there were some secrets even inside the CDC though the others had immediately wanted to find the vial once they knew what they were looking for and so they had entered the apartment. And unfortunately they had run into Raul.
Raul was the guy that fled the scene during Yolanda’s exorcism and it seems heh had returned to the apartment believing everything was ok. Though without treatment to hold off the disease and stop the infected from turning into a volatile person that could no longer think for themselves, the doctors had run into a contagious Raul that did try to bite them. So Raul had put the doctors at risk, but they had gotten to see the vial that had been taken from the CDC. The vial that had been taken was part of a three-step trial.
The three steps were becoming affected, dealing with the disease, and then being cured. So that told them that the CDC had had a cure that they could have used on the many that died however CDC DD Gareth Reddick had explained that the cure was too risky. He said that it was still in testing stages and that the results they had gotten from testing it on animals had been mixed. But Gage had been challenged on that. The doctors had told him that animals weren’t always conclusive and that a risk to save hundreds should still be tested anyways.
The doctors had believed that there was nothing to lose with testing the cure on the sick and they rode roughshod over Gage’s every argument. However, Rorish had gone into the tent and she had been at Ariel’s side. So she had seen how Ariel was getting sicker and she had been willing to take whatever risk they needed to save Ariel yet Gage had warned them that there might be side- effects to the cure. He said that sometimes it accelerated the disease and kills the infected. And so the cure could very well cause a bigger problem for them all to handle.
Yet, Rorish didn’t care. She agreed to be the test subject and she had been injected with the cure. So in a perfect world it would have instantly worked though that wasn’t the case with Rorish. Rorish’s condition was accelerated and Gag had had a moment of “I told you so”. So he decided to give up on the patients at the hospital and had told his subordinate to fly back to Atlanta with the cure. Gage had thought that they could try retesting it to see what worked and what it didn’t. And therefore he had already been thinking about the next stage.
So the doctors had decided to go rogue. They had asked Dr. Reed to help them synthesize a new cure and the doctors also believed that they needed someone naturally immune to make the cure work. Though they when they tried to enter the tent, a young woman had tried rushing in to see her fiancée and the guard had shot her. So the doctors had tried to keep the young woman alive and as they were doing so they noticed that she was naturally immune. And so she became the miracle they had all been hoping for.
A woman that hadn’t asked to be part of anything important had provided the cure and that same cure had been administered to everyone in the affected area. But Rorish had a moment to herself where she realized that she had needed to give up on the family she had lost. She said that she had had Ariel sleeping on her couch while she had two bedrooms that were going unused. So after they had later been given the cure, Rorish had given Ariel her own bedroom and they had become each other’s family.
And the hospital returned to normal in the end.
THE END!
