Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that a fan favorite will return this week. The latest comings and goings news reveals that Matthew Ashford will make a comeback as Jack. He’ll be around for a special episode about JJ (Casey Moss) and it’s going to be quite intense. As JJ’s guilt wear him down, he’ll decide to commit suicide. It’ll be up to a vision of Jack to talk him out of it.
In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Ashford talked about filming those tough scenes. “It’s never easy when people are considering ending their lives, and it shouldn’t be treated lightly…and the show is taking it pretty seriously,” Ashford said. The popular actor noted that he loved being back on set with familiar faces. The cast and crew welcomed him with open arms.
As for the future, Ashford would definitely be up for a lengthier return stint. “I’m hopeful that it’ll turn into something more substantial,” Ashford said. “Because I feel like the character has got a lot more story, a lot of things to tell, a lot of things to say.”
Many Days fans would love to see Jack return from the dead, but the show may not want to overdo it. Will (Chandler Massey) might be the limit on deceased comebacks for a while, but you never know what might happen down the road. Let’s hope Jack will return for good at some point.
Other Days of Our Lives spoilers say Tyler Christopher’s character, Stefan, will debut on December 29. He’ll crash a New Year’s Eve bash with Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel), so this is going to be a blast! DOOL viewers will be anxious to see the trouble they cause at this Salem party. Christopher recently confirmed his airdate on Twitter and gushed about how great everyone is at the NBC soap.
Another new cast member is equally pleased. Greg Rikaart plays Kevin on The Young and the Restless, but he made lemonade out of lemons when the show took him off contract. Rikaart was free to pursue an awesome opportunity at Days and based on his recent tweet, he’s loving it.
“Man, I’ve been having such a fantastic time working with all the incredibly lovely and talented folks over at @nbcdays,” Rikaart said. “Thank you all for being so welcoming and fun.” He couldn’t reveal his character’s name just yet, but he suggested he couldn’t wait for us to meet him. Look for Rikaart to show up in Salem this spring for a multi-episode arc.
