Days of Our Lives spoilers previously teased the return of Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis.) Fans were expecting a true villain. However, his personality is changing and he seems to actually be developing empathy. There are clues that he will soon make his transformation complete, going from villain to a hero.
Recently, it was acknowledged by Thaao Penghlis that fans really are seeing a new side to Andre. The writers do understand his past. However, they want to take the character in a better direction and make him more multi-dimensional. Penghlis also teased that Andre DiMera is being “humanized.”
Days of Our Lives spoilers confirm that this process is underway. After Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) crashed the double wedding, Kate Roberts DiMera (Lauren Koslow) had a reaction. She was emotional and jumpy. Instead of being harsh or poking fun at her, Andre tried to reassure her.
He also suggested using his men to track down Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo.) It was so Kate didn’t have to worry about Lucas going over the edge with the news about Will Horton (Chandler Massey.)
It seems that he really is changing and for the better. He really wants to do the right thing, something that he hinted to Abby (Marci Miller.)
Days of Our Lives spoilers suggest that Andre might end up becoming a hero. On Instagram, Penghlis revealed that Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) finally loves his brother. It only took two years, but Andre finally earned Chad’s respect.
It seems clear that Andre must do something incredible in order for Chad to actually respect and love him. Saving Abigail or Thomas from a dangerous situation would certainly do that. Perhaps Thomas will be kidnapped by one of the competing Salem families. If Andre puts his life on the line for the little boy, Chad would be eternally grateful.
It is hinted that there will be a lot of gripping storylines in the near future. Some lives could end up in danger. What better way to resolve the DiMera brothers’ issues by making Andre a hero?
Not only does the future tease Andre and Chad resolving their issues, but Kate remains a DiMera. Penghlis has talked about how “Kandre” have a complicated relationship and don’t live simple lives. Isn’t that the understatement of the year.
