Eva Longoria’s Hollywood dry spell is over. That’s because the former ‘Desperate Housewives’ star has landed a new role in a Fox Network comedy called ‘Type-A.’ According to reports, Eva will play the lead role in ‘Type-A.’
The workplace sitcom will focus on corporate consultants who pick up all the dirty work that others refuse to do. In other words, they’ll be telling people they’ve just been fired or demoted from their position. Eva’s character is a woman named Axler. She struggles at her job because she’s too nice to fire people or deliver them bad news.
For Eva Longoria, though, this is a step in the right direction. Even though she’s been making headlines for her personal life, she hasn’t had stable work in Hollywood for several years now. After ‘Desperate Housewives’ ended back in 2012, she’s only managed to appear as a guest on a handful of television sitcoms. She appeared on one season of NBC’s ‘Telenova’ and did have a role on ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine.’ And this year she’ll be appearing as a guest star on the hit musical drama ‘Empire.’ Eva will be playing Charlotte Frost, a director who will either make or break Luscious’ dreams of expanding Empire to Las Vegas.
Otherwise, the offers have been rather dry. But then again, Eva Longoria hasn’t even tried setting her sites on the big screen. She did star in 2008’s ‘Over Her Dead Body,’ but the film turned out to be a huge flop at the box office. That’s why Eva’s been keeping it safe by taking on small television roles and mini-series instead.
So does this mean that Eva Longoria’s television career is back on track again? That seems to be the case. Although fans will just have to wait and see if ‘Type-A’ will be good enough for Fox to pick it up full-time. Viewers will just have to tune in to see what will happen next.
So far Eva herself has not made any comments about her new project, although filming is expected to begin soon. Although it’s pretty clear that she’s looking forward to working again.
