General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) is to blame for Valentin Cassadine (James Stuart) coming to Port Charles and wreaking havoc. Anna is at the root of Valentin’s evil issues.
Anna is recovering memories of Valentin and she’ll be stunned when she does. Anna will see she’s the bad guy in the scenario and the horrible way she treated Valentin is what led him down the twisted road that he’s on.
Valentin was rejected by his family and shoved into British boarding school, but it’s at the school that he was recruited for the WSB. Anna knows Valentin from her spy days – she may have even been the agent that trained him.
Anna is a decade older than Valentin and GH spoilers tease she was his WSB mentor but betrayed him and the agency. If you know Anna’s history prior to Port Charles, she wasn’t always an upstanding enforcer of the law.
Robert divorced Anna after he found out she was a double agent. Anna betrayed the WSB and Robert – did she betray Valentin at the same time? It seems so. Remember how upset Valentin was when Anna’s photo went missing?
The picture was of Anna at the WSB. He knows the motto and lots of things about Anna’s time there. It’s clear that Valentin was at the WSB with her. Remember what he told Nina Clay (Michelle Stafford) about the photo?
He said: “It’s a relic from my past. It reminds me of how far I’ve come, how far I’ve yet to go… I have a whole lifetime of experience to teach me not to trust anybody… There was somebody I trusted. I let her in. I let her see the real me. And she made me pay a steep price.”
Valentin was upset and close to tears when he said this. Nina didn’t know it, but GH fans realize the person he was talking about that did him wrong was Anna. Was Anna more than a WSB mentor? Was she also Valentin’s lover?
Valentin knows but Anna recalls none of it. Why? Anna was presumed dead in an explosion in the early 90s. After she was found a decade later, it was revealed she had been missing for years and had profound amnesia.
That’s when Anna was on All My Children and Finola Hughes played Anna and her twin Alexandra. Anna later recovered memories, but major gaps in her recollection is completely believable based on ten years of lost time.
Anna assumes Valentin is a villain, but if these GH spoilers play out, she’s the bad one from his past. Anna betrayed Valentin and crushed him. Anna was likely Valentin’s first love so the wounds run deep.
Anna will be horrified when she recovers memories after jarring hypnosis by Andre Maddox (Anthony Montgomery). She will finally sort out the song she knows, the watch, and the long corridor at the WSB.
She knew Valentin well and made him the angry vengeful monster he is today. Anna put Valentin on the path to be a mercenary who cared about nothing and no one until Helena died and he decided to reclaim his family legacy.
Valentin has been mocking and teasing Anna because he wants her to remember their deeply personal past. What will Anna do when she unlocks it all? Will she acknowledge what she did to Valentin and apologize? Will she run into his arms?
