General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that there could be hope for Andre’s (Anthony Montgomery) future after all. Things have been looking bleak for Andre lately. He tried to make a run for it, but Jordan (Vinessa Antoine) and Curtis (Donnell Turner) eventually convinced him to take responsibility. Andre was a crucial part of the memory mapping study and now he’s facing the consequences.
When GH first revealed that Andre was in on all of this, he seemed like a good guy gone bad. It was shocking to think this mild-mannered therapist could be so cruel. However, more details are coming out and they’re shifting viewers’ perceptions once again.
Andre wasn’t out to make a quick buck or manipulate people for an evil scheme. He simply wanted to save one woman he loved dearly. Andre revealed that his wife was diagnosed with early onset dementia. That was the reason Andre became so obsessed with this memory mapping project. He hoped he could save his wife before she was too far gone.
The bad news is Andre’s plan didn’t work out. The good news is it earns him some much-needed sympathy points. General Hospital spoilers say Anna (Finola Hughes) will do everything she can to get Andre off the hook. If nothing else, she could at least get him a reduced sentence. Anna understands that Andre was desperate and many soap fans understand that as well.
GH could’ve easily let Andre’s arrest be his exit. He could’ve headed off screen to await his eventual conviction. Instead, they let Andre stick around to share his sob story. It sounds like they may be laying the groundwork for Andre’s redemption.
In his scenes on Monday, Anthony Montgomery proved that he’s a talented actor. It’d be great if Andre could remain in Port Charles and rebuild his reputation. Even if Andre has to find a new career path, it would be fun to watch him navigate this next chapter.
For now, perhaps General Hospital will continue their redemption efforts with a memory reversal. If Andre can undo the damage he caused, maybe there’s truly hope for him on GH. He might be the only one who can help Drew (Billy Miller) recall his old life.
