General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Bryan Craig has noticed that Steve Burton’s (ex-Jason Morgan, Patient Six) comeback is stirring up some serious excitement. Fans are interested in where this story’s going and cast members are anxious to work with Burton on some gripping material. A former GH star even wants in on the fun!
We’ve been hearing a lot about Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) lately since we just made it to the one-year anniversary of his death on General Hospital. Craig has been pursuing other projects, including several movies and a recurring role on The CW’s Valor. However, he recently chimed in with his thoughts on Burton’s return to General Hospital.
On Twitter, Bryan Craig suggested he was bummed to have missed Burton. GH viewers will recall that Craig took over the role of Morgan in 2013. Since Burton left the show in 2012, the actors never had a chance to share scenes. Craig indicated that he’d love to change that someday. He tweeted, “Why’d you have to come back to GH after I left…We shall work together at some point.”
Craig added a winking smiley face and Morgan fans immediately started retweeting. Of course, there are several ways to interpret Craig’s words. Since Steve Burton is on a 3-year contract with General Hospital, the most direct interpretation of Craig’s tweet is that he intends to return to General Hospital. Alternatively, perhaps Craig simply hopes to work on another project with Burton somewhere down the line.
Craig seems committed to focusing on film and primetime opportunities at the moment, so it’s doubtful he’ll be signing another full-time GH contract anytime soon. Still, it’d be nice if the show could work out a popup appearance. Stone (Michael Sutton) appeared to Sonny (Maurice Benard) from beyond the grave, so never say never when it comes to a vision of Morgan.
Plus, you never know how things will turn out in the future. Soap stars often return home after spending some time away. Just look at Burton’s big return after five years! Whatever the case, let’s hope Craig and Burton will manage to cross paths eventually on GH.
