General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Nelle (Chloe Lanier) will steadily gain support. She’s never going to be beloved by Michael’s (Chad Duell) family, but toleration and acceptance are possible. Thanks to Nelle’s dizzy spells, Michael’s starting to care more about her well-being. He can see that maybe he was being a little harsh before.
Michael will continue to look out for Nelle and the baby as this storyline moves forward. Monica (Leslie Charleson) also connected with Nelle a bit in a recent episode. Even Jason (Steve Burton) didn’t seem all that bothered by her. Carly (Laura Wright) may be the only one who still completely loathes Nelle by the end of all this. That could be important as the paternity test draws near.
GH has mentioned this test many times and Nelle has always been adamant that this is Michael’s child. That lines up with what we’ve seen on screen, too. Back when Nelle got pregnant, she was desperately trying to keep Michael in her life. It’s doubtful Nelle was off sleeping around and adding another potential obstacle for herself.
Since General Hospital is so focused on the paternity test, it could be a real game changer in this story. When the big day finally arrives, Nelle will undoubtedly expect the results to show Michael is the “baby daddy.” The same goes for Michael. He’s already prepared himself for that reality and has started thinking about the future.
Most of Michael’s loved ones will be backing him up every step of the way. Everybody will think this is just a formality to take care of, but this could be the setup for a shocker. Carly found someone to take care of a special task recently. This worker tampered with Drew’s (Billy Miller) car and told Sonny (Maurice Benard) he would happily help Mrs. Corinthos out with any other “projects.”
Could paternity test tampering be next on the list? Carly may feel like Nelle’s pulling the wool over Michael’s eyes again. She could sense that Nelle’s carving out a spot with the Quartermaine clan and planning to mooch off Michael forever.
Carly might be desperate enough to order a change in the test results. She’d know how outraged Michael would be if he caught Nelle in another lie. Giving up a grandchild could be a tough decision for Carly, but she may think it’s a necessary sacrifice. Carly just wants rid of Nelle for good!
