General Hospital (GH) spoilers for casting news say there are not one, but two dark-haired beauties coming to GH very soon. One is Martina and the other is DA Garcia. Because of the similarities of the role, and that both are lawyers, and the actress descriptions being similar, it’s created some casting news confusion. Here is the latest scoop based on inside info.
District Attorney Garcia is one role that has been mentioned a lot lately in conjunction with many storylines involved in the PCPD. It seems that Kary Musa, a Columbian beauty, will be taking on that role and she’s already been spotted on the General Hospital set filming. Kary shared an Instagram photo of herself at the Prospect Park Studios and said she was busy playing the role of a lawyer.
A District Attorney is a lawyer first and foremost and it seems they’ve cast Kary Musa for the role of DA Garcia. Kary is gorgeous, Columbian, and a musician and actress known for her Spanish language roles on Telemundo and other Hispanic television outlets. Musa also had a featured role in the blockbuster Marvel movie Iron Man 3.
The other big General Hospital casting news is for Martina, Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) love interest. Martina is also a lawyer who gets tangled up with the mob boss and kisses him before she realizes that the handsome dimpled dude is also a mobster bad boy that runs Port Charles’ underworld. That role has been given to Daya Vaidya who is a better known actress.
Daya had a recurring role she just wrapped on the popular Amazon detective series Bosch. She also had a recurring part on USA’s crime drama Unforgettable. But what likely brought her onto General Hospital’s radar was a role on Castle a little over a year ago. Castle has featured several General Hospital players for smaller roles including Epiphany Jones (Sonya Eddy).
Daya is another dark-haired babe with Latin and East Indian heritage. She’s also a successful dancer as well as actress that worked with the Alvin Ailey dance troupe. Now Daya Vaidya will be in the role of Sonny’s latest love interest for however long that lasts but it’s set to kick off next week on May 2 when Martina and Sonny meet at the Haunted Star.
It seems inevitable that Sonny will wind up back in the arms of Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) but who knows how long they’ll be apart this time. Sonny hasn’t had a new love interest outside of Carly in a while and while General Hospital fans seem torn about the CarSon split, it’s a done deal so they might as well adjust to the idea of Sonny getting a new girlfriend.
Other General Hospital spoilers show Martina regrets kissing Sonny after they first met and doesn’t want him to damage her professional reputation but then she can’t stay away from the mobster because he’s too sexy to resist. Some new spoilers say Martina and Sonny will work closely after there are more revelations about Morgan Corinthos’ meds so she’ll be part of that plot too.
