General Hospital (GH) spoilers report that fans are sad to see Jane Elliot leave the ABC soap. General Hospital has aired Tracy Quartermaine’s final moments on the show and fans are very emotional to say goodbye to the talented Jane Elliot, who has graced our beloved soap opera off-and-on since 1978. Would it surprise any of you to know she is the fifth longest character on the ABC daytime drama.
On Thursday, May 4, 2017 most of General Hospital’s episode was dedicated to Tracy sharing her final goodbyes with her closest family and friends. In true, Tracy fashion she spent a few moments with each loved one, giving them her sage advice; even admitting that she loved Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) and that she was grateful her eldest son, Ned Ashton – soon-to-be Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) had Olivia to take care of him.
All of Tracy’s goodbye moments were very touching and we’re pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the house – but did you feel something was missing? General Hospital’s Dr. Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) was able to banter one last time with her sister-in-law, finally acknowledging that the mansion was THEIR home and not just the home Alan (Stuart Damon) gave her.
Tracy tried to keep up the brave face as she quickly told her sons, Ned and Dillon (Robert Palmer Watkins) and Monica that she loved them but the moment she rushed back in the door to hug them one last time surely brought on the waterworks for all true General Hospital fans.
Just when we thought that was the last we would see of Tracy, she appeared in Amsterdam selling the painting her father, Edward Quartermaine (John Ingle) had treasured years ago. Once the transaction was complete, she went to a local cafe. Once the room cleared, Tracy looked up and locked eyes with the elusive Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) – her one true love.
Do you feel this send-off was epic enough for one of the longest and most loved characters on General Hospital, and in fact on any of the daytime dramas – was it satisfying? We would like to wish Jane Elliot all the best in her future endeavors and to let her know that she will be sorely missed.
