General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Frank Valentini has promised exciting news for GH fans and it’s looking like it might be the return of Tyler Christopher as Nikolas Cassadine. Both Tyler and Frank have tweeted hints this might happen.
Last year, on February 2, Frank Valentin released a video showing him asking Michael Easton to come back to GH after fan outcry at his unexpected death as Silas Clay. There have been two unsatisfactory deaths since then and we expect a similar announcement.
But who will come back? The two big candidates are Tyler Christopher and Bryan Craig, but Tyler is more likely based on recent social media posts by the actor. Tyler Christopher has been tweeting to GH fans recently saying “never say never” hinting at a return.
When GH showrunner Valentini brought back Easton, he made the announcement in early February then Easton was back in mid-March. We can expect similar timing when Frank makes his announcement this year if he’s resurrecting someone else.
Tyler didn’t want to leave GH – his departure was over money and a contract renewal dispute. In contrast, Bryan Craig quit on GH and walked out before his contract ended. Bryan leaving may have made room in the budget to bring back Tyler.
When Tyler left, Nikolas Cassadine was in the middle of a major story. He faked his death to get away from Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) and planned to run off with Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel). It’s doubtful the plot will pick up where it left off.
With Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) dealing with her Cassadine daughter and lots of holes in Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) history, Nikolas is needed more than ever. It might be that Valentin knows he’s alive – what a twist that would be.
There is no real evidence of Valentin’s crimes except Ava Jerome (Maura West) witnessing him shooting Nikolas. If Valentin has Nikolas hidden away somewhere and brings him back, then there’s no crime at all. That could help his custody case with Lulu.
Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) also needs her son. She’s got a lot of guilt and anger wrapped up in his loss. With Nikolas back, the only thing Laura can be angry about is Lulu’s Cassadine daughter, but that’s not Valentin’s fault – he was a victim too.
There is also a spoiler about Liz Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Franco (Roger Howarth) that might tie to Nikolas. We know Liz and Nikolas loved each other and he still cares for her. The spoiler is that a new threat wants to separate Liz and Franco.
Nikolas won’t have any problem leaving Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) to Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) but no way will he stand by and let Liz set up housekeeping with former serial killer Franco. Nikolas would hate that and would interfere.
