General Hospital (GH) spoilers for the upcoming Cassadine Island adventure reveal a twist few have thought of when it comes to the father and son held captive there. Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) is the monster behind the door that Jake Webber (Hudson West) drew but neither Jason nor Jake know this.
Consider this. When Jake Doe came to Port Charles, he was in an accident since Ava Jerome (Maura West) smashed into him with her car when he was in the road. Because of that, Jake Doe got a new face. This is the face little Jake has seen and was told is his biological father. So, Jake is okay with Jason.
However, back on Cassadine Island, General Hospital spoilers remind us Jason was wearing his old face (aka Steve Burton) back when he was first shot and kicked into Port Charles harbor by Cesar Faison (Anders Hove). That means when Jason was captive and brainwashed by Helen Cassadine (Constance Towers) after being unfrozen by Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough) he looked totally different.
When little Jake supposedly died, the man he thought was his father was Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) since Liz Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Jason decided that was best. Jason was a programmed killer who was Helena’s weapon and he was kept behind the door on the island after he was unfrozen, chipped and programmed.
General Hospital spoilers warn that Jake would have been terrified of Helena’s pet assassin but doesn’t know, as of right now, that the beast Helena kept behind the door is the same person Jake now calls dad. Little Jake is already messed up in the head thanks to living with Helena for years, but this revelation will terrify him.
Jason has always been a kind and loving father to little Jake but that might not stop Jake from being scared of his father. Jake is old enough to know good from bad and once it’s revealed that the killer that Jake was terrified of is his father, the kid might have a serious breakdown. Jason’s old face could be what Jake tried to draw with the scarecrow!
In fact, General Hospital spoilers say that Jake might not be able to see his father the same way ever again. Helena probably took great pleasure in making Jake scared of his biological father. The Cassadine matriarch had no idea that Jason would wind up having plastic surgery so he’d be back with a different face.
Helena intentionally made Jake scared of Jason to ruin any chance of them being a functional father and son if they ever escaped her custody. That’s also why Helena let Jake go so easily. She wanted to see her evil plan play out – of Jake being terrified of his dad but the plastic surgery delayed the reaction.
Once everyone goes to Cassadine Island, Jason will remember being held behind the door and once he confesses that’s where he was caged, Jake will know that his dad is the big bad wolf he was scared of for years. What will that do to their father/son relationship and Jake’s fragile mental state?
