General Hospital spoilers on this week’s new GH episodes are concerned about Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) slipping off the edge with his blackmail scheme against Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton). GH fans remember that Brad is asking for a big payoff from the lizard drug that cured Finn and Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) in return for not turning him in to Chief of Staff Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) for being a drug addict.
And Brad also let Dr. Finn use General Hospital’s services despite that he wasn’t on staff. So, Brad wants some payback for his loyalty and he wants it big. He figures he took a great risk letting Finn use the hospital and that it’s time for Finn to return the favor.
But as all GH fans remember, Brad broke onto the GH scene being a total low life and then blossomed into a worthwhile character when getting involved with Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes). Brad in the old days, attempted to blackmail Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), committed fraud, faked lab results and got tied up with Brit Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) all the while being related to former Asian PC mob boss. We could go on and on but this just gives an idea of his stellar background.
But while Brad is making his blackmail demands clear to Finn, Lucas his husband, overhears their conversation. Lucas is shocked and disappointed and is very concerned. Remember when Lucas rejected Brad when he found out that Britt’s baby was actually Lulu Falconeri’s (Emme Rylan)? Lucas won’t put up with this kind of behavior.
Lucas is an honest, hardworking, straightforward guy and doesn’t like the shady side of Brad. He accepted Brad with the belief that he would become a lifelong loving partner but now…. We know Lucas’ biological roots rest with the Jerome family, but genetics are not complete determinants of human behavior and for the most part Lucas seems to be an honest guy despite the bad genetics.
He was raised by his adoptive mother Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) and has made a good life for himself. He’s a doctor with a respectable reputation and seems to have no skeletons in his closet. So, is he going to accept Brad going back to his old ways? Will Brad fess up to his blackmail scheme? Will Lucas give him and ultimatum? Is it over for them?
