General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Nathan West (Ryan Peavey) gets an update on next week’s new GH episodes (May 1- May 5) from Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and the news isn’t good for Nathan and Maxie’s marriage. The bad news Nathan gets is that Maxie is extending her trip to Portland, but is that a fatal mistake for their union?
Maxie is having a good time out in Portland. She’s hanging out with Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson), and Ellie Trout (Emily Wilson) plus her adorable daughter Georgie Spinelli (Lily Fisher). Meanwhile, Nathan is back in Port Charles all alone and with no one to warm his bed – and for no good reason.
The problem with this General Hospital plot is that it’s been hastily constructed to allow Kirsten Storms to take a three month leave of absence for personal reasons. Maxie and Nathan might have been better served as a couple by a temporary recast of Maxie so their new marriage storyline could continue on as it should.
It seems unlikely that General Hospital will let the long gap in the marriage go without comment in the plot. It would be utterly bizarre if Maxie came back to town after months away from her husband with the flimsy excuse of a job. Maxie didn’t have much of a job before Crimson, so why the sudden focus on career?
Maxie ran off, left her new husband, and took a job across the country right next to her ex-boyfriend and almost husband. Nathan has to be feeling like Maxie’s throwing shade all over their marriage. And General Hospital spoilers tease that there’s still the lurking possibility that Nathan and Maxie aren’t married legally if his ex is alive somewhere.
There have been GH spoilers swirling for a while, straight from TPTB at General Hospital, that Griffin Munro (Matt Cohen) would finally be getting a love interest and that the woman would be married. Maxie is a perfect choice for Griffin’s love interest since they already have good chemistry and it would be nightmarish.
Since Griffin already took one wife from Nathan – Claudette Beaulieu (Bree Williamson) – it would be twice as awful for him to take another wife from the studly cop. General Hospital writers seem to like to dredge up the most terrible options and storylines and this would wound Nathan and complete Griffin’s fall from grace.
When Claudette was in Port Charles and Nathan and Maxie were dealing with the Canadian ex’s scheming to get back with Nathan, it seemed for a while that Maxie and Griffin might wind up together. With Maxie taking off and leaving Nathan all alone in Port Charles, this might be the breaking point for Naxie.
Kirsten Storms is finally back on social media and looking great and this points towards her heading back to the General Hospital set soon which would see Maxie back in Port Charles sometime in June. Will it be too late for Nathan and Maxie’s marriage by the time Maxie finally returns to Port Charles?
