General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Oscar, portrayed by Rio Mangini, may actually be the son of beloved GH character, Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil). Fans know that Brenda left town with her young son, Alec in July 2011 but the powers that be are known to age children to suit a storyline and its not out of the realm of possibilities that Brenda renamed her son after her grandfather, Oscar Barrett.
Longtime General Hospital fans with remember that Alec, who was 3-years-old at the time, was known as Lucian when Brenda discovered that she hadn’t had a miscarriage but the boy’s grandmother, Suzanne Stanwyck stole him from birth. Brenda was married to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) at the time, but feared for her son’s life because of Sonny’s mob life.
Brenda turned to Jasper “Jax” Jack (Ingo Rademacher) for support and left town with him after she learned Sonny was doing everything possible to make sure Jax didn’t obtain custody of his and Carly’s (Laura Wright) daughter, Josslyn.
GH’s Oscar was introduced to viewers of the ABC soap opera, recently as a new love interest for Josslyn “Joss” Jacks (Eden McCoy); their first time talking was during a party Joss had while her mother was in Puerto Rico with her estranged husband, Sonny. Oscar seems friendly and sweet to talk to, could he be the one who steals an emotionally frustrated Joss’ heart?
Brenda Barrett and Sonny have been one of the “IT” couples on General Hospital since they got together in 1993 and have been on and off since then. Brenda has been the thorn in Carly’s side since the beginning, so how will these women feel if their children were dating each other?
General Hospital has had many women fight over one man before but there is nothing quite as epic as Carly and Brenda’s battles for Sonny’s affections. Joss is a vulnerable teenager who doesn’t know how to deal with her frustrations and get off the emotional roller coaster she feels stuck on. If General Hospital spoilers are correct, and Oscar is the son of her mother’s number one enemy, Joss may use that to her advantage.
