General Hospital Spoilers: UPDATE – Robert Palmer Watkins NOT Fired – RPW Tweets On Dillon Staying at GH on Recurring Basis

General Hospital Spoilers: Robert Palmer Watkins NOT Fired – Report Says Dillon Staying at GH on Recurring Basis

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Robert Palmer Watkins may not be exiting the role of Dillon after all. It’s true that Watkins’ contract won’t be renewed, but Soap Opera Digest September 18 Issue is reporting that he may stick with the show as a recurring character. This move would be pretty smart on GH’s part. One thing we can add with certainty – despite false speculative reports by content-mill outlets Dillon does not die in a plane crash.

Dillon hasn’t really had much of a story over the past few months, so they probably felt like they needed to use him or lose him. They obviously chose the latter. It isn’t cheap to put actors on contract, so dropping Watkins down to recurring makes sense.

This way Dillon can remain on canvas, but they won’t have to pay a ton for him. They’re trying to save money for people who are crucial to ongoing storylines. Steve Burton’s (ex-Jason) return has undoubtedly been a factor in some cast cuts.

Of course, the downside is Watkins may not be as available anymore. He’ll naturally pursue other projects to make a solid income. No one can blame him for that! Still, General Hospital spoilers hint that Kiki (Hayley Erin) and Dillon could keep their relationship afloat.

Kiki can barely fit Dillon in her schedule right now anyway. She’s too busy studying and doing rounds with Dr. Bensch (James DePaiva). Perhaps Dillon can breeze in every now and then for some sexy scenes. He’ll probably be around for big Quartermaine clan events as well. He’s an important member of the family, so it’s nice to know he might stay in town.

General Hospital spoilers say Dillon and Kiki will do their best to squeeze in some romance this fall. Ned (Wally Kurth) may also need Dillon’s advice down the road. As Ned and Michael’s (Chad Duell) war heats up, Dillon might help them sort out their differences. Let’s hope GH continues to find ways for Dillon to stay involved.
