General Hospital Spoilers: Sam Brain Tumor Medical Shocker Causes Erratic Behavior – How Far Will She Go?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco) has a serious medical crisis coming. The hallucinations and her erratic behavior are all about a lump in Sam’s brain. She’s hearing voices and now seeing things and that means something is off in her noggin. The problem is, this brain tumor will be delayed for diagnosis because Sam is fighting against medical help.

Although Sam showed up to see Dr. Kelly Lee (Minae Noji), she wound up talking to Dr. Griffin Munro (Matt Cohen) instead. Griffin checked Sam out and suggested it might be mono since she’s run down and tired. However, when Griffin tried to order a blood test, Sam refused. Griffin also suggested she might be suffering from PTSD over her recent ordeal with Olivia “Liv” Jerome (Tonja Walker).

When Griffin tried to get her to make a follow-up appointment with Dr. Lee, Sam made excuses and took off. Right after that, at the MetroCourt, Sam raged at Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Julian Jerome (William deVry). Alexis noted that Sam isn’t being like herself. She’s hyperaggressive. Alexis walked away and promised they would talk later. Sam didn’t tell the truth to her mom or Griffin.

Sam held back on her most disturbing neurological symptoms – the voices she’s hearing and things she’s seeing – like when Sam thought Liz Webber (Rebecca Herbst) was holding a gun on her. If Sam had told Griffin the truth, instead of hiding important information, she might have been sent for an MRI or CT scan right away. But because she’s lying, General Hospital spoilers reveal that things will take longer to come out.

What’s ironic about this story is that Franco (Roger Howarth) had a tumor that caused his violent behavior, and Sam and Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) were the victims of his awful antics. Sam has never believed the tumor was responsible and says Franco is still a monster. It seems the General Hospital writers will use this Sam brain tumor plot to try and fully redeem Franco, even though it will anger JaSam fans.

We’ll soon see Sam engaging in terrible behavior that gets increasingly violent. In fact, in coming weeks, Sam shoots Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) when her hallucinations cause her to mistake him for a threat. It will be quite a while before Sam is diagnosed and operated on to remove her brain tumor. In the meanwhile, we’ll see Sam withdraw, grow more aggressive and finally act out violently.

This will be Sam as we’ve never seen her. Sure, she was a con woman when she first came to Port Charles but the only time she’s been violent was when defending herself or others. Remember when Sam picked up a gun to protect Liz and her kids back in the day? It will be a slow burn, but this plot is all about Sam and Jason ultimately forgiving Franco for his mistakes.

Once Sam goes down the same road Franco went down, she will understand that it truly wasn’t his fault and he should be forgiven for what he did to her and Jason (according to the writers). Since Roger Howarth just signed a new General Hospital contract, that means he’s sticking around, so there had to be peace between Sam, Jason, Franco and Liz since they will be forced to co-exist.

This brain tumor plot is the perfect mechanism to give Sam insight so she lets go of old wounds. However, GH showrunners should not expect all their fans to be happy when they head down this road.
