General Hospital spoilers explore the possibility of Billy Miller’s Jason Morgan being an impostor and how this could relate to Steve Burton’s availability now that his Y&R run has ended. Since Steve Burton is not renewing his contract with The Young and the Restless, there is, naturally, buzz about him returning to General Hospital. But would he return as Jason or in another role?
During his time as Jason, Billy Miller has branched out into prime time television, a TV movie, and one film, ‘Bad Blood.’ It’s possible he would like to do more outside work, thus opening the door for Burton to return as Jason.
There are some other interesting possibilities. As has been bandied about, Burton could come back as Jason I, revealing that Miller is an impostor, Jason II, sent by Helena. Best not to ask why. Who knows what evil lurks in that dark mind of hers? If she’s alive, that is — I’m betting she has been defrosted.
General Hospital spoilers provide another layer to that storyline: Possibly Jason I had a fraternal twin, and Heather did one of her short sales so that another nurse in the hospital could have a baby. Instead of bringing toys to children, Heather brought babies to nurses. She programmed Jason II with Jason I’s memories.
Is Heather capable of that? Capable, yes, but does she know how to do anything besides attempting murder and selling babies? If anyone did that, it was Helena. She’s the brainwasher of the pack.
General Hospital has not done much with the Jason character since Miller replaced Burton. Jason I was a complex character, seemingly cold, but inside, he had a good heart. Billy Miller seems like the “retro” ‘Jason,’ from the time he was Jason Quartermaine. Jason I is not as layered.
When Jason II regained his memories, whether programmed or not, his personality did not change that much. He could have fallen in love with Elizabeth all over again, or been repulsed by Sonny, or gone back to medical school, but the GH writers didn’t go there.
If Jason I returned, that would make for a great story. Sam would be pregnant with another man’s child, setting up incredible conflict. And how would Sam react to Jason I? One problem here. Jason II was identified as Jason 1 by a facial recognition program set up by Spinelli, which stripped down the reconstructive surgery to the real face. Explain that one. One possibility? Originally they were identical twins and not fraternal.
Burton could return to General Hospital as a totally new character, making room for both actors. I do think, though, most viewers would still look at him as the one true Jason. It isn’t possible to say yet whether the impostor theory that’s been roaming around the Internet is fan fantasy or a leaked exciting story arc for GH.
