General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) is not a Cassadine at all. He is Charlotte Cassadine’s (Scarlett Fernandez) father, but neither he nor his daughter are related to the GH legacy family according to some sources. So, if not a Cassadine, who is Valentin?
Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) spoke of Valentin as the most terrifying Cassadine of all but there was no mention of him being a hunchback stricken with scoliosis. That’s an important distinction. Helena may have frozen or killed the real Valentin if she had the chance since he was so scary.
Then she may have hired this Valentin we know to take his place so she could scare others but wasn’t in danger herself. Why would Helena need a fake Valentin? There are lots of reasons. Remember that Mikkos Cassadine’s will left the money to the oldest male heir.
With Stavros Cassadine (Robert Kelker-Kelly) and Stefan Cassadine (Stephen Nichols) gone, that left Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher) in charge of the cash and that meant Helena was cut off. She had no funds to live the life she wanted or execute her many evil plans.
Helena needed Nikolas out of the way. Creating a fake Valentin to kidnap or kill Nik would give him control of the family fortune as a proxy for Helena. But now that Helena’s dead, it may have been Valentin that finished her off so he could have everything.
Also, consider that Valentin’s boarding school was burned down and that meant all the records of him are gone. That frustrated Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) but that might tie back to the fake Valentin’s biography and history.
Fake Valentin may have been playing the role for years and that’s why he burned down the boarding school so there would be no trace of the real Valentin left. Fake Valentin could have been recruited by Helena after he left the WSB when Anna so cruelly spurned him.
Helena could have cleaned him up, got him spine surgery and plastic surgery to remake him into a fake stepson to help her with her awful agenda. As it stands now, no matter who the guy is, he’s got control of the Cassadine fortune and name, but that could blow up in his face.
We know Nikolas isn’t dead and he could come back and take on Valentin. There’s also Anna’s tricky memories. Why wouldn’t Anna remember that she went to the WSB academy with someone named Cassadine? Perhaps he was using another name at the academy – his real name – if she could only recall it!
There are too many strange gaps in Valentin’s history. The only thing we know for certain is that he’s Charlotte’s father based on the DNA test. Helena may have used Valentin’s sperm for the embryo because he was her faithful minion at the time.
Or the embryo tale could be a total lie and Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) isn’t the mom at all and this is some sick plot that Valentin has planned to ruin lives. No matter who he is, we know he has a twisted past and twisted plans.
