Did Kate Middleton spend her teenage years in therapy? The Duchess of Cambridge was allegedly bullied by her peers at her high-brow private school so badly that her own parents were worried about her mental state.
According to Australia’s Woman’s Day Magazine, Kate was tormented and bullied by her school peers at the exclusive Downe House School in Berkshire, England. Some of Kate’s peers were so jealous of her that they allegedly left feces in her bed, picked on her, and made her life a living hell.
Insiders say that she was picked on because she a perfect student. Others say that she was bullied for being tall, skinny and shy. Things were so bad at one point that Kate’s parents Michael and Carole Middleton looked into getting professional help for their daughter. Michael and Carole didn’t want Kate to feel stigmatized over the bullying but at the same time they knew she needed some kind of therapy. Kate left the school after only completing two semesters in 1996.
Of course, CDL is skeptical over the report. Kate Middleton has never spoken about the alleged therapy or all the bullying she endured at the school for that matter. Even though Kate Middleton is a huge advocate for raising mental health awareness, there are no indications outside of this ‘source’ that say she was in therapy for her childhood issues.
Then again, the only person who knows the truth about what really happened during her childhood is Kate herself. But her alleged awful experience at the Downe House School might also be one of the reasons why she has been working with mental health charities to help victims of emotional abuse. Kate has been close to tears during speeches she’s made about mental health awareness for children.
During a royal engagement at Britain’s Evening Standard, Kate urged her teachers and students to talk about kindness. She also told students that they should speak up about their feelings of loneliness and despair. Kate Middleton also said that she and her husband Prince William are doing whatever they can to teach their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte values like kindness, respect and honesty.
The last thing she wants to see are her children bullied at school, too. Kate Middleton has even said that she would use mental health services for her kids, Princess Charlotte and Prince George, if they needed it. Not typical for Britain’s Royal Family who have tended to bury their problems far from the media spotlight. Whatever Kate’s personal adolescent difficulties might have been she certainly seems to have rebounded and stands to be Queen of England someday!
