Kate Middleton and Prince William Choose Private School For Prince George: No ‘Best Friends’ Allowed

It seems as though Kate Middleton and Prince William do NOT want Prince George to follow in his father’s footsteps of having a somewhat normal childhood, because recent reports have suggested that little George has been enrolled in a new private school where he is ‘banned’ from having any best friends.

Kate Middleton and Prince William have reportedly chosen a private school named Thomas’ School in Battersea, south London – even though his father went to Wetherby. And even more shockingly, the school reportedly bans the concept of ‘best friends’, instead encouraging the children to have lots of close friends.

On their site, headmaster Ben Thomas claims that this policy is for a good reason, explaining, “As you would expect of any Thomas’s school, the most important school rule is to ‘Be Kind’. We offer a rich and broad curriculum, with Art, Ballet, Drama, ICT, French, Music and PE all taught by specialist teachers from a child’s first day in school.”

Okay, firstly – you’re seriously going to tell a toddler not to have best friends? That’s like telling a fish not to breathe underwater, or telling Jennifer Lawrence not to make fart jokes – it just does not happen. Kids are naturally inclined to have best friends, as are teenagers and adults. There’s nothing weird or strange or isolating about that, and kids can still be friendly to everyone and have lots of close friends while *still* having best friends.

There is suspicion that this is one of the reasons that Kate Middleton and Prince William chose this particular school for Prince George; no best friends means less worry about vetting said best friend and their family, even though they’re just toddlers. The school also seems to be fairly open-minded and interactive with their education, which might be another reason they decided to go with this as opposed to Wetherby for little George.

However, this is also yet another example of Prince William breaking rank and tradition for his family, because as we know by now, Willy thinks he’s the most special royal family member and can do anything he wants without consequences. After all, what is tradition when Prince William doesn’t like it?

What do you guys think about Prince William’s and Kate Middleton’s decision to send Prince George to a new school, different from where his father went? Do you think that’s acceptable, or they should have stuck to tradition? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and come back to CDL for all your Royal news and reports.
