Kate Middleton is already back to work. The Duchess of Cambridge has made her first appearance in a new mental health video following the announcement that she and Prince William are expecting their third child.
Earlier reports indicated that Kate Middleton was forced to cancel some of her royal appearances because of her extreme morning sickness, or hyperemesis gravidarum. Well now the 35-year-old royal is back in the spotlight as she filmed an introductory segment for a new campaign titled You’re Never Too Young to Talk Mental Health. The short clip will air at primary schools in the U.K.
The Duchess of Cambridge opens up the clip by saying, “It helps us all to talk about our mental health. What to say and who to talk to when we have feelings that are too big to manage on our own. And how to listen and help if one of our friends is finding things difficult. Sometimes, it’s just a simple conversation that can make things better.”
The short film also features illustrations, graphics and voiceovers by children. While Kensington Palace has not said anything about when the video was shot, many keen royal observers believe that the Duchess might have filmed it during the early weeks of her pregnancy.
Clearly, Kate Middleton won’t be disappearing from the public eye anytime soon. Sure, being pregnant while raising two children is never easy, but she also has a job to do. During her last two pregnancies, Kate managed to stay out of the spotlight. That’s because she used her extreme morning sickness as an excuse to stay at home and behind closed doors. Yet for this third pregnancy, the Duchess is already back to work.
Buckingham Palace hasn’t confirmed Kate Middleton’s due date yet, but many royal observers believe that the Duchess might already be in her second trimester. And if she is, that means the public will be seeing more of her in the coming weeks. As much as Kate Middleton would love to stay at home and dedicate her time to her children Prince George and Princess Charlotte, she still has her royal obligations to fulfill. Both William and Kate are expected to attend their royal engagements and public appearances regardless of whether they like it or not.
