Kate Middleton wants her children Prince George and Princess Charlotte to grow up as normal as possible. That’s why she’s decided to ban them from using laptops and tablets at home. Instead, she wants her kids to grow up playing with the same toys their father Prince William once played with as a young boy.
Of course, a lot of royal fans aren’t surprised that Prince William and Kate Middleton have banned Prince George and Princess Charlotte from using laptop and tablets at home. But they are surprised that the Duke and Duchess have also banned electronic use during their family trips, too.
After all, many parents swear that tablets like iPads help make their trips more peaceful, they work as a great distraction for cranky, frustrated and jet-lagged children who refuse to behave or cooperate with their parents. But William and Kate don’t see it this way. They would rather have their kids cry it out on a plane than sit them in front of an iPad. And that’s probably what happened during their last state trip to Germany and Poland.
Prince George couldn’t hide the fact that he was tired and cranky when the family arrived in Warsaw last week. Princess Charlotte, meanwhile, threw an epic tantrum on the tarmac at Hamburg airport. She cried, pouted and refused to get off the floor, leaving her mother Kate Middleton absolutely humiliated in front of the press and photographers.
Sure, the Duke and Duchess are raising their children the best way they see fit, but sooner or later they’ll realize that the majority of children do use electronic devices on a daily basis. In fact, Prince George will see that too the moment he starts going to school full-time. As much as William and Kate want their children to be normal, that might never happen.
The future King of England, Prince George will always live a life that is different than his peers. While their friends are playing with the latest gadgets and electronic games, George and Charlotte will be preparing for their roles as members of the British royal family for the rest of their lives.
So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about Prince William and Kate Middleton’s tablet ban for their children. In the meantime, don’t forget to check back with CDL for all the latest news and updates on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge along with the entire royal family right here.
