Princess Charlotte was not included in the British royal family’s Father’s Day post on Sunday, June 18, and royal fans are outraged. Instead, the royal family shared a throwback photo of Prince Charles, Prince Harry and Prince William alongside a recent photo of William with his almost 4-year-old son, Prince George. And now royal observers want to know why William’s daughter Princess Charlotte was left out of the Father’s Day tribute.
What’s more, Kate Middleton is utterly confused over the obvious omission. The photo was simply captioned with, “Happy Father’s Day. Wishing all the fathers out there a very happy day.” Yet angry social media followers pointed out right away that young Charlotte was not included in the post.
A lot of fans point out that this is yet another PR blunder made by Prince William and Kate Middleton’s staff. In fact, a lot of people believe that their PR staff might be the reasons why the Duke and Duchess have been dealing with a PR crisis for so many years now. They’ve often been called the laziest couple in royal history and have had more gaffes and blunders than other members of the royal family.
Prince William’s embarrassing ski trip to Verbier and videos of Kate Middleton’s public speeches are just to name a few. Unfortunately, the Duke and Duchess’ PR staff is doing more to hurt than help their public image.
And clearly, this latest post isn’t helping Prince William and Kate Middleton at all. By leaving out Princess Charlotte in the picture, it just sends the message that young George is more valued in their family. But that’s not the case at all. Princess Charlotte might very well be the next Queen of England the same way Prince George is the future King of England.
Then again, Princess Charlotte wasn’t included in the tribute perhaps because there are very few photos of just her and William. Sure, there are plenty of family photos of William, Kate, George and Charlotte, but very few pics of the young princess with just her father. But at the same time a lot of critics say that’s no excuse for the PR staff to leave Princess Charlotte out of the picture completely.
So far Kensington Palace has not made any comments about the blunder. In the meantime, don’t forget to check back with CDL for all the latest news and updates on the British royal family right here.
