Kate Middleton and Prince William, according to buzz, have earned the unenviable task of becoming the unofficial Brexit ambassadors. Essentially, this would mean that instead of jetting around the world on vacation, they would be forced to jet around the world – and Europe – and convince everyone that England knows what it’s doing, and that Brexit is not as bad as everyone has been making it out to be.
Of course, given that Prince William‘s reputation is down the gutter right now – and Kate Middleton’s has never been all that high to begin with – does the royal family really want to do themselves a disservice by appointing these two to be their Brexit ambassadors – however unofficial that appointment may be?
Technically, Kate Middleton and Prince William are already the ambassadors of the royal brand wherever they go, and their job is to ensure that they sell the image of the royal family well. As we continue to move into an increasingly modernized world, calls for demolishing all forms of monarchy have been rising recently; in fact, sources say that it’s only Queen Elizabeth’s resilience that has prevented this from happening already. And then you add the scandal-ridden Prince Charles and work-shy Prince William to the mix? Well, let’s just say – the odds aren’t looking great.
However, even though Kate Middleton and Prince William attempt to convince the rest of the world that the monarchy is still essential to their country – and the world – their antics make it difficult for people to buy into it. And now, they want to add Brexit ambassador to their job titles? The two can barely handle one public appearance a week without making it seem like they’re being threatened to do it; if they’re going to be forced to sell Brexit to an already wary and skeptical audience, they’re going to have their work cut out for them. No scratch that. They just won’t do the work at all.
