Kate Middleton’s push for the title of hardest working Royal 2017 continues. The Duchess of Cambridge will join Prince William and the Place2Be Big Assembly on February 6 to promote Children’s Mental Health Week.
Prince William and Kate Middleton began 2017 with a Royal calendar seemingly packed with back-to-back official Royal appearances. On January 11 Kate managed to pull off two Royal obligations – one a visit to the Anna Freud Early Year Parenting Unit. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge then carried out a joint visit to the Children Bereavement Centre later that day.
On January 17 Harry, William and Kate spoke at the Heads Together symposium and helped outline the next phase of the 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon. Prince Harry invited marathon registrants to run on behalf of the Charity of the Year 2017 at the marathon which will be held on Sunday, April 23.
Place2Be will highlight the importance of kindness during Children’s Mental Health Week. Kate and William will take part in the Big Assembly which will encourage schools across the United Kingdom to share the message to that everyone should spread a little kindness.
The first day of activities will include role playing by children that focus on the kindness theme and a choir performance. Later there will be a presentation of a ‘Kindness Cup’ to one student who has “demonstrated exceptional kindness in their school community.”
Following the first day of activities Place2Be’s Children’s Mental Health Week downloadable videos of the Big Assembly will be available on the Place2Be website. The centre hopes to have the videos available by Tuesday, February 7.
Place2Be encourages schools to use the videos during assemblies or as part of lesson plans at convenient times during Children’s Mental Health Week. There are also numerous downloadable resources for primary and secondary schools available on Place2Be’s Schools Page.
Kate Middleton and Prince William are determined to remove the stigma attached to mental illness. The Cambridge’s, in conjunction with Prince Harry, believe that the earlier children learn to speak up and talk about their feelings the easier it will be to deal with mental health problems in the future.
In 2016 Kate Middleton worked a total of 68 days, making her the laziest Royal of the Year. Prince Harry, who racked up 61,800 miles traveled for official Royal engagements outside the United Kingdom alone, was deemed the hardest working of the younger generation of Royals.
Why has it taken Kate six years to come up to speed and carry out a heavy schedule of Royal obligations? With the Cambridge’s soon living full-time, or nearly full-time, at Kensington Palace can Kate Middleton reverse the laziest Royal label? Come back to CDL to see all the latest Royal news!
