Keith Urban has reportedly bought Nicole Kidman’s childhood home in Hawaii as a present for her fiftieth birthday, but sources have alleged that the present also serves to repair their broken marriage.
Right now, Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman split their time between Australia and the United States, but Keith just paid millions for Nicole’s childhood home in Oahu. The home apparently contains fond memories of Nicole’s childhood and especially of her time with her father, Anthony, who passed away in 2014.
It’s also Nicole Kidman’s 50th birthday in June, which means that not only is Keith Urban going all out for it, but that he’s well aware of the precarious bridge their relationship currently rests on.
Their marriage has reportedly been going through some rough patches lately, with several recent reports alleging that the only reason they’re still together is for their children and for image purposes. They’ve both settled into a routine that works for them, and even though their marriage itself is in tatters, they allegedly feel it’s too much work to divorce at this point.
And if that’s the case, then what other choice do they have but to attempt to fix their marriage? Keith’s gesture of buying Nicole’s childhood home – despite the fact that they don’t live in Hawaii and are unlikely to suddenly up and move there – shows that he really is making an effort to repair their marriage.
The question is, will Nicole reciprocate? While some reports have been claiming that it’s Keith’s, ahem, wandering eye that has caused the issues, others have claimed that it’s Nicole’s aloofness and focus on her career that initially formed the rift in their marriage. And now, it just seems like small issues have built up into larger issues, until both of them are stuck in an unhappy marriage with no way out.
