Kim Kardashian has a long history of getting snubbed by famous people, going all the way back to the MET Gala in 2013. Even though she was invited, she was cropped out of the official gala, which many took as a sign of Anna Wintour’s disdain for her and her reality star status. However, Anna is not the only A-list celebrity to snub Kim Kardashian – two of the most influential members of the royal family, Prince William and Kate Middleton, have also joined the list.
Sources tell OK! Magazine that Prince William and Kate Middleton are not ‘thrilled’ about having Kim around them. OK’s source adds, “Kim has been pressuring hubby Kanye West to arrange an introduction – to no avail. Kanye’s met Will, who’s a real fan of his music, but all invitations to his concerts since he married Kim have gone ignored and Kim’s convinced it’s because of their snobbery towards her.”
The report adds that Kanye has already tried to set up a meeting between Kim and the royal couple once, but was ignored. And now, apparently poor Kim’s feelings are hurt, with the source adding, “You’d think Kim would be used to this, but it’s really hurt her. She’s a huge fan of Kate Middleton and wants desperately to meet her.”
Another sticking point for Kim is that Beyonce and Jay-Z have already met the royals, and as we know, Kim considers herself to be on the same level as Beyonce. She thinks that because she married Kanye, she’s entitled to being treated as though she is Kanye and she has the same level of talent as him – not as a reality star hanger-on who is using Kanye to achieve new heights to her fame. And, you can say a lot of things about Kanye West, but denying his talent and how influential his stage in the global music world is not one of them.
Kim may have thought that as his wife, she would have access to all the things she didn’t have access to before – the MET Gala, meetings with the royal family, meetings with the President and the first family. And now, she’s learning that she can’t quite get rid of the reality star aura as easily as she thought she could, and that people aren’t necessarily able to look past her history and her celebrity status and focus only on her husband. Poor Kim, indeed.
