Kristen Stewart is an actress, director, artist, and now an author. The Hollywood star recently published a research paper on using artificial intelligence to create art. The paper is so bizarre that some critics can’t help but wonder what Kristen is actually talking about in her research.
Reports indicate that Kristen apparently investigated the use of artificial intelligence technology to recreate scenes in her new short film, ‘Come Swim.’ The film is Kristen’s directorial debut and it kicked off the Sundance Film Festival this past week. While some people are impressed with Kristen’s research papers, her critics say that Kristen is desperately trying to prove to the world that she has real indie cred.
Explaining how ‘neural style transfer’ works in film, Kristen tried to explain how she used special visual effects with a high-quality moving image. She used neural style transfer in the opening and closing scenes to apply the style of the painting to the filmed images. Kristen wrote in her paper, “The painting itself evokes the thoughts an individual has in the first moments of waking (fading in-between dreams and reality), and this theme is explored in the introductory and final scenes where this technique is applied.”
So does this mean that Kristen is looking to explore more alternative methods in directing? Is she looking to quit acting for good? That’s what some insiders believe. Some are even saying that she’s no longer interest in being an A-list Hollywood star like Jennifer Lawrence or the other high-profiled actresses her age. Instead, she wants to prove to the industry that she indeed has talent.

She wants to prove to Hollywood that she was what it takes to be a director. She’s also been more conscious about her projects and film roles.
