Lily-Rose Depp’s modeling career is pretty easy, thanks to her famous parents Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp and massive Hollywood nepotism. In fact, the 17-year-old admits that her job is a walk in the park thanks to her special relationship with fashion icon and Chanel creative director, Karl Lagerfeld. Lily-Rose even says that she’s best friend with Karl, mostly because of his friendship with the young teen’s mother, Vanessa Paradis.
Many models in the industry work long hours just to get recognized by the industry’s top designers. But that’s not the case with Lily-Rose Depp. She recently opened up about her special relationship with Karl, telling InStyle UK magazine, “He makes you feel really comfortable. Once he gets what he wants and once he knows he’s got the shot that he wants, you’re done so it’s not like you have to slave away all day for one photo because once he knows that he has got what he is looking for then you are done.”
Yet, industry insiders can’t help but wonder if Lily-Rose’s modeling career would still be this easy if it weren’t for her famous last name and rampant Hollywood nepotism. Of course, many critics have long said that Lily-Rose Depp has managed to make a name for herself in the modeling world because of Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp’s connections.
After all, her mother Vanessa starred in plenty of Chanel print ads herself. She and Karl Lagerfeld have been close friends for years. So it’s no wonder that Lily-Rose is Karl’s new muse and one of few models that get to close out his runway shows.
Lily-Rose isn’t the only model who is using her famous last name to land prestigious contracts and gigs in the modeling world. Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Kendell Jenner, Hailey Baldwin and so many more have been slammed for using their parents’ famous last names and connections to help their careers.
If that weren’t enough, Lily-Rose is also trying to make her big break in Hollywood as well. She’s already starred in several movies, including ‘Planetarium’ with actress Natalie Portman. Lily-Rose has made it no secret that she wants to be an A-list star just like her father, Johnny Depp.
