Nashville Recap 6/8/17: Season 5 Episode 13 “Til I Can Make It on My Own”

Tonight on CMT Nashville starring Hayden Panettiere returns with an all new Thursday, June 8, 2017, season 5 episode 13 called, “Til I Can Make It on My Own.” and we have your weekly Nashville recap below for you. On tonight’s Nashville episode, as per the CMT synopsis, “Juliette experiences anxiety about her upcoming first major performance after the plane crash; Bucky clashes with Zach; Scarlett confronts Damien.”

Juliette is in the doctor’s office. He wants to refer her to a psychologist. Her anxiety is from trauma in her childhood. Juliette doesn’t care to hear what he has to say. She wants a solution for her stage fright. She needs to go on tomorrow night.

Daphne and Maddie are in the kitchen. Deacon wants to plan sometime with them. He asks Daphne if this is okay and if she is okay. She responds yes and no before leaving the room. Maddie smiles.

Deacon meets Cassidy quickly on the red carpet outside the building where the awards will be held. She is with Zach, who wants to talk to Deacon alone. He has plans for the company and the release of Maddie’s single. Plans that don’t include Bucky.

Daphne goes to see her new friend, Liv. The other kids in the warehouse are rude to her. Meanwhile, Damien keeps calling Scarlett who is avoiding him. Gunnar tells her that she needs to face it.

Bucky is talking to Maddie about her single along with Deacon. Zach shows up. He wants to know why he wasn’t invited. Deacon tells Zach off to the side that Bucky is staying – he is family. Zach tells him to think it through.

Juliette is at rehearsal early. She becomes upset that the label wants her to perform an old song. She begins to have a panic attack. Things become foggy. She sits down and breaths and has a flashback of herself as a child with her father. Ally is there the whole time to help her.

Daphne follows Liv and the others to a junkyard where they plan to steal things. She tells them it’s a bad idea. Two men come out of nowhere and chase them. Liv climbs a bob wired fence and cuts herself at the top. She begins to scream. They bring her back to their warehouse. Liv is bleeding while the others try to help her. Daphne tells them she needs to go to the hospital, but they all refuse, telling her it is a bad idea.

Avery is on stage singing. The crowd is going crazy.

Daphne sits down next to Liv, who is now bandaged up. She is eating. She apologizes for yelling at Daphne. Daphne wants to know where Liv’s parents are. Her biological parents are drug addicts and her foster parents where just as bad. She tells Liv that she is coming home with her.

Avery gets off stage. His agent tells him that he is headed on tour – 20 cities. They are leaving in 10 days.

Juliette is rehearsing when she trips and falls. She lands on stage and has a flashback of her father. A woman is trying to win the attention of her father from her.

Juliette and Avery walk through the front door. She just wants to go to bed. Avery reminds her that people love her. They used to, she responds.

Scarlett meets Damien at a restaurant. He is excited to see her. She gets right to the point – she is pregnant. He orders a double shot of Grey Goose straight up. She tells him she is doing this and she thought she would tell him.

She stands up to leave. He tells her to wait – he wants to help her. What does she need? He begins to panic again, downing his drink.

At the music festival, Scarlett and Gunnar hit the stage. Bucky and Deacon talk in a side room at the festival. Deacon tells Bucky that Zach wants him out. Deacon isn’t going to let that happen. They will figure out a plan.

Daphne and Liv are at Daphne’s house. Liv is cleaning up in the bathroom. Daphne tells her that her mom is dead and that her real dad is jail. She lives with her step dad.

Juliette is dreaming. Her father says goodbye. He is going to the store. She wants his car pull away.

Hallie finds out that it wasn’t the labels idea to nix their performance together. It was Juliette’s. She calls her a narcissistic bitch before storming off.

Deacon discovers Liv in Daphne’s room. He tells her to start explaining.

Juliette drives up to the church. She has a flashback of her mom telling her that her dad isn’t coming home. She gets out of the car to see the choir. She confront them. She is scared. It caused her to make bad decisions. She is afraid that she will fail on stage. She begs them to sing with her tonight.

Deacon and Daphne talk. Liv can’t stay there. They don’t know her. Liv comes in the room and tells him she will leave. She starts towards the door. He asks her how old she is. She is 15. He wants to know where her parents are. She doesn’t know. He tells her she can stay for the time being.

Damien tells Scarlett he wants to make it work. He is still in love with her. Meanwhile, Avery tells his agent that he can’t go on the road. Juliette needs him. Juliette is in her dressing room. The choir is a no show so far. Outside, Bucky is heading out the door when Deacon sees him. Zach has let him go. Deacon get mad. He wants to stop it all but Bucky won’t let him. Bucky leaves. The choir shows up. Juliette is happy. The crowd is chanting for Juliette.

The choir is on the stage singing. Juliette is about to go on when she has a flashback of her dad. She is crying as a little girl, asking her dad why he left. He hugs her and tells her that he will always be there for her. She is going to do wonderful things. She finally gets on stage. She sings I’m on My Way and nails it. Avery watches on proudly.

Meanwhile, Daphne is sleeping while Liv looks up at a photo of their family. She is crying.
