A cargo bound for Pendleton was waylaid and killed for on tonight’s episode of “NCIS: Los Angeles”, but unfortunately it also involved a friend of Sam’s.

Sam had met Byron Brown when he was doing some work for the Kulinda Tactical Agency and he still gives to Byron’s charitable organization. But Byron wasn’t one of the men killed for the shipment. He was actually involved in its theft. The man that had stolen a cargo – Tony Young – was a petty crook and this job couldn’t have been his idea, however, Tony had turned to Byron after his partner had killed two people and had gotten killed himself. So it had looked like Byron was part of the job to NCIS and some of them thought Byron might even be the mastermind behind it all.

But Sam didn’t want to jump to conclusions. He thought that there had to be a plausible explanation for what happened and that Byron could have been there because of Kulinda. So Nell had checked in with Kalinda and the fact that Bryon had resigned a week ago had managed to make Callen suspicious. Callen had said that maybe the heist was Byron’s exit plan. The cargo that had gotten stolen had been an arsenal of weapons and the price of them was well worth over a million dollars yet Sam had still wanted to believe by that point.

Sam had gotten to known Byron Brown quite well and he didn’t want to think he had been so wrong about the other man. But the guys had sent Kensi and Deeks to deal with Young while they followed Byron. Byron had been out and about though Sam didn’t remember Byron being the sort of man to attend a charity shooting event and so the guys had asked Eric to look into it. Eric had found out the event was being held by Livingston-Bradford who were defense contractors and the guys suspected that Bryon was going to their event in order to make a deal.

There was going to be a lot of specialized weapons at the event and the people that were attending were doing so because they were interested in that sort of field. But that included the men behind Livingston-Bradford. Charles Livingston and William Bradford sold weapons overseas about as much as they gave out to charity. So it wasn’t surprising that there had been a bit of a scandal involving one of their dealings and that they were now throwing a huge charity event to help recover their image, but what was surprising had been the guys’ way into the event.

They apparently didn’t need to sneak in because their boss had gotten an invite. Mosley was going to the event as an Executive Assistant Director and she had told the event’s security team that she was going to bringing her own men. But the event was going to be dangerous. There was going to be booze and weapons there. So it didn’t matter that the defense contractor was giving away twenty million dollars to aid the Western Sahara Conflict because the men remained on alert. They had acted as Mosley’s backup and they checked out the scene.

Sam had even found Byron. Byron had been pleasant and had said all the right things however Sam could sense the other man was anxious and so he knew Byron was up to something. But Byron wasn’t selling the guns. The other team – Kensi and Deeks – had found Tony. He was about to sell off the weapons except no one from the party had shown up for them. Instead, it had been another low-level crook that had wanted to buy the arsenal and he had nothing to do with either Byron or Livingston-Bradford.

So the one thing Kensi and Deeks had wanted to know was where was the vehicle. There came across the weapons and sale in progress yet the weapons vehicle was gone and Tony hadn’t wanted to tell them what happened to it. But with some pressure, Tony eventually confessed to the truth. He admitted that Byron had paid him for the job and that all he had wanted was the vehicle. Tony said that Byron had even let him keep the money as well as the weapons. So that hadn’t made sense to anyone. Why go to such lengths for just a vehicle unless the vehicle was tied to something bigger?

The guys had thought about it and they thought it might have something to do with an assassination. But they hadn’t known they were right until they found the truck. The truck like that was able to slip right into a shooting party without anyone noticing and inside there had been a case for a sniper rifle. So Sam knew right away that Byron was the shooter and he suspected why Byron had taken the job. There had been no word from Byron’s family and so the guys sent Kensi and Deeks there to investigate the scene.

The couple had gone to Byron’s home armed and with their vests on. But Sam’s suspicions hadn’t been off the mark. There had been someone holding Byron’s family hostage. So the two broke in and they managed to save the family, but the rest was up to Sam and Callen. The guys had thought about who would be the target and they thought it was Bradford. Bradford had wanted to take the company out of the arms business and it turned out to be a good thing because someone had been using their charitable donations to give even more weapons to the warlords over there. And so the figured out who wanted Bradford dead.

They knew that Livingston’s had the most to lose and so they had Eric look into them while they talked down Byron before he could go ahead with the job.

But while NCIS had thought it was Charles Livingston that wanted Bradford dead, it turns out it was Charles’s wife Sasha. Sasha had wanted to lose the millions if not billions that came from selling the weapon and so she conspired to kill her husband’s best friend, however, Sam ruined her plan when he stopped Byron and Charles didn’t stand by his wife after everything came out. So Sasha was going to be sent away for what she did and she still lost out on the life she was trying so hard to preserve.

THE END!
