Are Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles covering up all the lies behind their affair? A lot of royal observers can’t help but notice that the royal couple might be trying to rewrite the history of their romance. Prince Charles’ ex-wife Princess Diana famously called Camilla Parker-Bowles the third person in her marriage while she was still married to the royal. And now Camilla is telling her side of the story.
According to author Penny Juror’s new semi-authorized biography, ‘The Duchess: the Untold Story,’ Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles’ romance began way before Princess Diana was even in the picture. Apparently, Charles begged Camilla not to marry her first husband, Andrew Parker-Bowles back in 1973. He was always obsessed and attracted to her so much that it caused problems for him and Diana during their marriage.
In fact, Juror says that Diana was left devastated when she found a picture of Camilla tucked into his diary. She also noticed that he would often wear gold cufflinks engraved with interwoven C’s, which she took to mean ‘Charles and Camilla.’
Alot of royal observers can’t help but wonder if Juror is trying to make Camilla and Charles look like lifetime lovers who simply married the wrong people at the wrong time. Juror writes in her book, “He made a huge mistake. You can sympathize with Diana — oh God, yes. Put that way, he was the architect of the disaster . . . also he wouldn’t have had the sensitivity. He’s very interested in objective things, but not subjective, so he couldn’t have understood the complexities of her feelings.”
Of course, things got worse when Camilla and Charles reportedly began their affair in 1986. During his marriage to Diana, Camilla was the only person who apparently could lift Charles and his spirits whenever he was down. Camilla doesn’t want the public to think that she destroyed Charles and Diana’s marriage because she wanted to.
Instead, their affair happened because Charles needed Camilla while Camilla needed him. At least, that’s the story they are now trying to tell. They’ve been married for well over a decade now and want the public to stop making Camilla look like the villain of the royal family.
So far neither Prince Charles nor Camilla Parker-Bowles have made any comments about the allegations or Penny Juror’s book for that matter. In the meantime, don’t forget to check back with CDL for all the latest news and updates on the royal family right here!
