There’s more bad news for Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles. A new report says that the royal couple is not only unpopular at home in the U.K. but abroad, too. In fact, a new poll conducted in Australia reveals that only 39 percent trust Prince Charles and worse, only 37 percent want him to replace his mother, Queen Elizabeth. In comparison, Prince William proved to be a more popular choice for the next King of England. About 41 percent said that they would rather see him take the throne.
Of course, this isn’t the kind of news that Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles want to hear right now. Charles is now closer to becoming the next King of England than ever before. And with that in mind, Camilla Parker-Bowles will also be the next Queen of England, regardless of whether her critics like it or not.
With that being said though, Charles and Camilla know it’s going to take a lot of work to change the public’s perception about them. They were on the right path until the ‘Summer of Diana’ reminded everyone just how awful and spiteful Charles and Camilla were during their secret affair while he was still married to Princess Diana. And all of the secret recordings and tapes haven’t helped their case, either.
Plus, there’s also the fact that the British public prefer to see Charles’ son Prince William take the throne before him. But that’s surely not going to happen. Prince Charles has waited his entire life to become King of England and there’s no way he’s going to pass up the opportunity by allowing his son to become King instead. Despite his unpopularity, Charles is going to do the job and he’s going to do it his way whether people like it or not.
So far Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles have not made any comments about the report or what they plan on doing to hopefully gain a little popularity in the polls right now. Whatever they do, both Charles and Camilla know that they have to watch every move they make and word they say as the last thing they need right now is make any controversial headlines with their names in it.
