Prince Charles is doing whatever it takes to soften his public image. Many believe that the future King of England is trying to take on a more hands-on approach as he prepares to make a huge transition in his life. Charles has been working non-stop by doing during his public appearances and royal engagements. Some say that he is making quite the effort to listen to what his fans have to say. He simply doesn’t want to be seen as a stiff, out-of-touch royal who isn’t in tune with the British public anymore.
Reports say that Prince Charles was in good spirits as he walked around the multi-cultural Narborough Street. He stopped to talk to people from all different nationalities and even bought a piece of baklava at a Turkish restaurant.
In fact, multiple reports indicate that Charles stopped inside one business in Leicester to simply say hello to store owners. He even spent a good amount of time chatting to community groups before moving along down Narborough Road in Leicester. Many locals were surprised to see how warm he was and how he made an effort to shake everyone’s hands. One eyewitness even said that he was also very humble and approachable.
If that weren’t enough, Prince Charles is also proving to the world that he is going to be a different leader than his mother, Queen Elizabeth. He even broke royal protocol by doing something the Queen surely wasn’t pleased about. Back in December, he even defied the Queen by addressing politics in his Christmas speech. Charles delivered a speech as part of the BBC’s Thought of the Day program and talked about the current conflicts in the Middle East and how the world needs to practice more tolerance.
And while many royal insiders think that Queen Elizabeth is preparing to retire soon, no one really knows what is going on behind closed doors at Buckingham Palace. Prince Charles has waited long enough for his turn to rule the monarchy. Yet, Queen Elizabeth doesn’t look like she’s ready to hand over the crown just yet.
