Prince Harry and Meghan Markle aren’t even engaged yet, but it looks they might be making some important decisions about their future together. There’s a report that says Harry and Meghan are looking to protect their assets by signing a prenup before their wedding. This is because Harry and Meghan are an estimated $59 million dollars between them.
According to Australia’s Woman’s Day Magazine, Prince Harry is worth an estimated $52 million dollars. He was left a $19 million dollar inheritance after his mother Princess Diana passed away in 1997. Meghan, meanwhile, is worth $7 million dollars.
One insider told the publication that it was actually Meghan who supposedly initiated the prenup talk. The tipster said, “She thinks it’s very important they retain financial independence,” adding, “It’s a sure sign Harry is serious about announcing the wedding soon.”
If Harry and Meghan do end up signing a prenup, it will surely surprise the rest of the royal family. Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles reportedly do not have a prenup. Prince William also refused to sign a prenup before he married Kate Middleton back in 2011. Even though his advisors told William that he needed some sort of legal agreement, he didn’t think it was a good idea.
Even Princess Diana’s former private secretary Patrick Jephson reportedly urged Prince William to sign a prenuptial agreement, saying that it was both practical and important. Despite everyone’s input, William refused to do it.
Of course, CDL is skeptical over the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s prenup report. So far, there have been no indications made that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are looking to sign a prenup before their wedding. At this point, CDL does not accept the report as true.
What’s more, Prince Harry hasn’t even officially proposed to Meghan yet. At this point, insiders don’t know if the couple will even make it down the aisle before the end of the year.
So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about a possible prenup or about Harry and Meghan’s relationship status for that matter. Tell us, do you think Queen Elizabeth wants Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to sign a prenup before their wedding?
