Ryan searches Sasha’s apartment while Owen and Alex search Fletcher’s house. Shelby and Clay watch Fletchers house. After their shift they return home to find Cal and Raina talking. Raina and Ryan talk as the rest of the team arrives at work. The whole complex is put on lockdown because someone tried to hack into Clay’s email. The team realizes Peter Theo is buying stock to take over Geo and they also think he had something to do with Sasha’s death.
They want to use Clay’s engagement party to get all the key players in the same room. He resists at first but then agrees to the plan. He then has to convince his fiancée to have a party. The guest list will be 400 people so the team can blend in. Cal confronts Shelby because he thinks she is trying to be friends with Clay’s fiancée so she won’t get suspicious when she is alone with Clay. The team reviews the key players invited to the party and plans their next moves.
The party begins and everyone is in place. The president’s arrival is delayed so Clay covers for her. Ryan is worried that the party will end badly. Owen is hopeful. Cal offers a toast to the country and to Henry. The president arrives as Shelby confronts Peter. She offers to cover for him if he tells her everything he knows. He leaves and starts to look for Roarke.
Henry and the president talk and she offers him the vice presidency. It will include her postdated resignation. Alex is offered an opportunity to jump sides. Ryan starts working with the other side in an attempt to protect his friends. He gets Alice on tape admitting to a murder then tells her he wasn’t going to really work with her. He has her confession on tape and will give her immunity if she will start working with him. She agrees.
Henry won’t take the president’s deal. She is right where he wants her. Cal comes in to tell his mother that they got one of Henry’s people to turn on him. The president tells Henry the deal is off and she now has him right where she wants him. Clay and his fiancée are happy how the party went and he wants to elope immediately. She says know because she thinks he is being motivated by fear.
The team meets to talk about the party. Ryan thinks the rest of Henry’s team is going to turn on him but Alex thinks it is a trap. Clay agrees with Ryan. They will go with his plan. Clay tells Shelby that he loves Maxine but he needs her to make him hate her again. Alex and Owen have a drink but she is unhappy he didn’t stand up against Ryan. He has a plan. They will turn in one of their team. Ryan goes to meet Alice but instead finds a Washington Post reporter.
Someone enters Clays office and erases his files. Clay calls a meeting of the team but as he leaves the house he sees Shelby and Cal come out of the bedroom together. They planned it so he thinks they are a couple. This will keep Clay and Shelby apart. The team freaks out as they realize all of their files are gone. They turn on the news to hear that their operation has been exposed and that congress may move to impeach the president. Clay tells the team they have been exposed and their operation is over. They have lost. Alex and Owen hope their plan will work.
