Queen Elizabeth Threatened to End Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles’ Affair

Queen Elizabeth reportedly threatened to end Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles’ affair. A new report claims that the Queen contemplated intervening when Princess Diana found out that Charles was planning a huge birthday party for Camilla at Highgrove back in July of 1997.  With Diana and Charles’ divorce still fresh, it would be a recipe for a media disaster.

Her Majesty almost put an end to Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles’ relationship when he announced his plans to throw a star-studded 50th birthday party for his mistress. Queen Elizabeth knew that it would draw a lot of media headlines, especially since everyone was still pointing their finger at Camilla for allegedly breaking up Charles and Diana’s marriage. Author Penny Juror documented the situation in her new book, “The Duchess: The Untold Story.”

Penny Juror writes in her book, “She was forging a new life for herself, not only with her landmines crusade but also with a new romance — with heart surgeon Hasnat Khan. What had agitated her about the glitzy party was simply the prospect of Camilla becoming a public figure.”

Even though Prince Charles and Princess Diana were divorced at the time, she was supposedly bothered over the fact that Camilla was becoming a public figure. In other words, Diana knew that it would only be a matter of time before Camilla would officially replace Diana as Prince Charles’ new wife. And for Princess Diana, she simply couldn’t deal with it. This was the same woman that Diana often referred to as the third person in her marriage. There’s no way that she would allow someone like Camilla to become the new “People’s Princess.”

At this point it’s safe to say that Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles live a happily married life together. Unlike his marriage to Princess Diana, there’s no drama with Camilla. They’ve been married for well over a decade and for the most part, look like they enjoy each other’s company in public.

Plus, Queen Elizabeth hasn’t gotten in the way of their marriage. She sees that her son is happy with Camilla. Many reports indicate that Queen Elizabeth and Camilla Parker-Bowles even have a warm relationship with one another and that the Queen has fully accepted her as a member of the British royal family. These days, she has no reason to make any threats.
